I ate so much!!! This was such a nice restaurant. The food was very fresh and flavorful and the atmosphere was comfortable. We were really hungry when we got there and we ordered accordingly! We had the vegetable miso and the seafood miso. Both soups were good, not outstanding and I would probably have regular miso next time, but there were good. We had the tuna tataki and the sashimi sampler appetizers. The sashimi was so fresh and delicious it may have been the best I’ve ever had. The seaweed salad on top of the tuna tataki was my favorite part of that appetizer and I would have been just as happy with just an order of seaweed salad alone, maybe even happier. Our main meal consisted of the Joe Roll, the Paradise Roll, a shataki mushroom roll and an eel roll. The Paradise Roll was our favorite of those and was filled with a fresh assortment of fish and loaded with three different kinds of fish roe on top with gave it a yummy little crunch. The spicy sauce that comes along side the Joe Roll is delicious if you don’t mind a mayo base. The mushroom roll had a great mushroom taste and texture that I really enjoyed. The eel roll didn’t compare well to other eel rolls I’ve had and I wouldn’t order that again. We finished by splitting a mango mochi ice cream, which I would pass on next time as well. This has been my favorite sushi joint in the Toledo area so far. I’m looking forward to crossing a couple more off my list before I can declare my favorite, but given price, atmosphere, taste and quality (not necessarily in that order)…this is my favorite so far.
This sushi restaurant came recommended in the Toledo area and it was really good. I have a stange rule about eating raw fish…I must be 25 miles from the ocean to do it…so I ordered cooked rolls and they were good! The had a nice selection on the menu and creative touches. I had the Hawaiian Volcano roll which came flaming….that was a first for me but I liked it! The ginger dressing was creamy and had nice flavor although it could have been a tad more pungent with ginger flavor. They did not have mushroom soup so I had Miso and it was good. I was with a friend who can’t have dairy and the waitress was helpful with finding out the food restrictions. However, all the breading and mayo based sauces use milk….so it did limit what she could order.
