Sadly, a wonderful place in decline. We have been customers for many, many years, but as time has gone on, and business has increased, Mary (the owner) is no longer able to keep up on her own.As such, with others being given more responsiblilty, the quality and overall feel have declined significantly.We go far less frequently (rarely anymore, in fact) and it is quite a dissapointment the past few times when we have.It truly is hard to find good help these days, and Cambridge Tea House has become a victim of this phenonenon.
I’m bemused by the comments about the service at Cambridge. It’s a tea house. Tea has never synonymous with fast food. I went today with a friend for afternoon tea. We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time, which was a mild annoyance. We enjoyed a leisurely cup of tea while we waited for our food. I savored my scones & jam while she seemed to appreciate her tuna melt & carrot slaw. We enjoyed the sunshine streaming in through the windows & one another’s company, never once feeling rushed. It’s unusual to find a place where time slows down & conversation deepens. I savored every moment.
