Big college football fan? Big 10 fan? Avoid the chains….. Although not the greatest food in the world, the food everybody was served was very good. I would even go as far to say, sometimes, that I will give up a little quality in the food for a locally owned, non-franchised dining experience. Yes, the table leaned hard to one side. Yes, there was a slight smell of stale beer in the air. Yes, if I lived in the area I would probably be a regular here!As a big college football fan (PSU) I can appreciate the history of various schools and their contributions to one of my other passions – sports!…Ohio State along with Michigan, UCLA and numerous others are all in that elite group and Dale’s, just like Gus’ in Knoxville, knows how to capture that feel. You might find numerous other things to complain about when going into Dale’s if you’re not a big fan of sports, but the people that were there when I visited were all friendly, and from what it seemed, family friendly, too.The reuben sandwich was very good, the fries were very good and all of the other plates that were brought out to our party were good, save the tuna…which after I tried it I think it just had a bit more relish in it than most would expect.Good time with the kids and fam… I’d go back. Just one suggestion – put a little blue and white on the walls!

Decent Burger.. The place is a Dive/local pub/water hole. Never really come here for anything but the burger and even then only get it Togo. Not a bad place to get burger if your in this side of town.

Neighborhood Spot – not worth the stop. In my quest to seek out niche little places not ran by chains, I always enjoy the thrill of finding a new spot! In some cases, my anticipation is unwarranted….this is the case with Dale’s. It is an average sports bar with a cozy atmosphere and plenty of peanut shells on the floor (this concept is old already – this isn’t a texas roadhouse). Very few redeeming qualitys, as none of the food stood out as exceptional – the wraps were pretty decent on one occasion, but our party did not like their burgers or the sandwiches…our fries were greasy and lukewarm and our server was slow and not very friendly. The manager was sitting down the whole time behind the bar at a small little desk doing paperwork, while his staff was struggling to keep up with a boisterous bar crowd. The back end dining room was quiet…This place is more bar than grill, and if you don’t mind obnoxious bar folk you should be at home….just don’t waste your money on the food, there is nothing that great about it, unless you had a ‘few too many’ and need something to sober up a little.

If you don’t like it you must be a Michigan fan! Not the biggest, but the best burgers in Toledo. Fresh made chips and salsa, decent salads, all coming ou of a tiny kitchen. It’s the kind of place where the servers remember you and welcome you back. Can’t go wrong and Dales!!!

Dive bar for beer and sports. Go for beer and bar food, but don’t expect much. Most everything is deep fried and lacking any real taste or quality. Average at best service.

Peanuts in the shell!. I may like Dale’s more for the atmosphere and the friends who have joined me there than the food. Who doesn’t love peanuts in the shell with their beer? (besides those who are allergic, of course!). The food is typical bar food, lots of deep-fried yum!
