made reservations a wk earlier and had to wait 90 min after order for our food. they had the wrong time of arrival and our pre ordered meals were not even started nor did they have one of the meals in stock. owner mgr blamed the waitress but we know who screwed this up. but to make it worse after the owner was confronted he disappeared till we left. not one offer of apology or comp 1 meal of 10. will never go there again
Good food,bad chairs,long wait. We spent Valentine’s Day here, around 700pm. Although the place was fairly full when we arrived it was soon only half-full. The hostess was very warm and seated us immediately. It took FOREVER to be waited on and for each of our 2 courses to come (30-45 mins each time), and that seemed to be normal from the look of things. The food was truly delicious (onion soup,b-b-q ribs, prime rib), and the waitresses cheerful, but that couldn’t compensate for the outrageously uncomfortable cafe chairs that we sat in for the over 2 hours. Our recommendation: if you go, order only one course and at the same time as you order your beverages, and sit side-by-side on the padded benches…..
New to us, BUT, an old time favorite. Our party of 10 ate at the Rib Cage restaurant this Tuesday evening. When we first arrived, the place had only one 2 top working. We were seated rather quickly by a very friendly gentleman. They offer a large menu plus nightly specials, so, our choices were plenty. I ordered one of my all time favorites, eggplant Parmesan. It came with a side salad and warm bread. My partner ordered the 2 pork chop special which came with choice of potato, salad and vegetable. Four in our group ordered perch which was a generous serving of 4 filets, lightly breaded and fried. Another ordered a full rack of BBQ ribs which were fall-off-the-bone tender. Another ordered veal parmesan which came with a side of spaghetti, and another had coconut shrimp. All of us fully enjoyed our choices! The restaurant seemed rather slow, but, that really didn’t bother us because we received excellent service!! Sadly, the Rib Cage is a little difficult to see from Chesterfield St, so, unless you are familiar with that part of town, you may have a difficult time finding it! We all felt the food was great, the prices are right, and we most certainly will make a return visit soon!
