Met a friend for dinner. I met a friend for dinner at Austin Steak house in Mayfield Village and had a fabulous dinner. We were not rushed and it was a comfortable atmosphere. Strip steak was the special that night so I tried it. It had to be the best steak I have ever eaten. Usually I order fish in a restaurant but was glad I got the steak. My friend had the baby back ribs which he said were fabulous as always. He is a regular there and this was my first time. I will definitely be going back.
Food was very good, service was less than anticipated from this 20 year old establishment.

Oh my great giddy aunt… U…. Oh my great giddy aunt…Upon parking the car we were greeted with the head chef walking out back to smoke and a ladder left on the roof for reasons I don’t even want to think about. Ignoring that I hoped that the inside held far better expectations, I was wrong. Beef was fatty and uninspired with no distinct flavor. We were offered free desert as compensation for a dish, however the one they offered we found out was not even available. While it was slightly satisfying, my future relationship with Austin’s is quite uncertain.
Horrible…why is this place still open?. Unfortunately I have a family member that lives near Austin’s and wants to go there when I visit. It’s awful. The prices are high for the awful food and horrible service you receive. Went two days ago and the steaks we had were awful. Not cooked to order, full of gristle…the waitress was unapologetic and almost nasty. No thanks. Plenty of other places with good food and great service. Go someplace else!
Did they forget what makes a great restaurant. Went to Austins last night for the first time. What an awful excuse for a restaurant. The waiter was super rude and made it sound like everything was our fault. Forgot to bring out salad ahead of dinner had to ask then got it with meal. Brought the melted butter 15 minutes ahead of lobster so COLD. Steak way over cooked shoe leather quality. Pork overcooked. BE AWARE of pricing on menu waiter didn’t explain about lobster with steak, just ordered lobster and price was 39.99, not 23.99. We love to go local but this one is off our list.
Bought a groupon and even at 50% off it was not a good value. I’ve had a better steak at a hospital cafeteria. Poor cut of meat, lame presentation and barely passable service. If the price was $10.00, maybe not so bad. At over $20/ entree, no way.
