Is what it is. Hot dogs with a twist. Not as good as Chicago dogs but we are not in Chicago. Service could be better. A little update to decor would be nice as well.
My family LOVES Dan’s Dogs! We work on the square and eat there all the time. Their dogs are always juicy and flavorful on top of buttery buns. The toppings are endless and plentiful. I’ve tried so many different options like the nacho dog, slaw dog, Indian’s Dog, etc. Their dog paws (potato pancakes served with applesauce or sour cream) are phenom. You can’t beat the prices either. A huge hot dog and basket of paws for well under $10. Where else can you get a meal for that price?!Recently they were brought under new management and not only have WIFI now…they also accept credit/debit cards!! Major move in the right direction for the restaurant.I do have to say that I’ve tried the grilled chicken salad from there once and it was the most disappointing, sad thing I’ve seen/tasted. Crappy iceberg lettuce, weird overly steamed broccoli, potato cubes (wtf?), too much tomato and cucumber (almost like it was compensating for the lack of more crappy iceberg). The chicken was definitely the kind that already had grill marks on it when you buy it from the freezer section if you catch my drift. Not good. Seriously, stick to the dogs and you can’t go wrong.
