Below average food and service, good atmosphere. Ordered a taco salad which was delivered with the salad core, husbands enchilada plate was wrong one and the second server brought the correct plate to the table, then made a U-turn. When we asked the waitress about the correct plate it came out 5 minutes later then the salad was picked up, then exchanged (or core removed). Food was ‘okay’.
Food was decent at best. Staff was terrible at best. 2:30pm, two tables seated and the service was horrific.
Yucky food – rice was inedible, way too salty. The temperature in the place was uncomfortably cool. And the waiter didn’t speak English well enough to communicate. Bummer.
This place was OK, but overpriced for what it is. For better food, cheaper price and much better service, go to Don Tequilla’s
Terrible Service And No Reason To Be So Arrogant. First of all the gentleman who seats you is probably in the wrong business. Never have I ever seen someone so arrogant and obnoxious. Secondly, the waitress should have known what the specials were or were not. Thirdly, having to wait for our drinks before dinner was very disappointing. Now as for the food?? Left very much to be desired. I had heard several bad things about this restaurant but like movie critics? I prefer to be my own judge and not go by someone else. Maybe it was a bad night for them all the way around??? But this was the second time I tried this restaurant and I do guarantee it will be my last. I will go back to Alexandri’s which also is in Medina. Their whole atmosphere is much friendly and you do not have to deal with arrogance.
Love it. I like Tres Portillos very very much. I am from Arizona and to be honest, Tres Portillos foods is right up there with our fancy Mexican restaurant call the Cantina Laredo. When I come to visit my parents my mom takes me to Tres Portillos because she knows that I like Mexcan food. My mom always gets a salad there and talks about how good it is after we leave. My long time friend and I go to Tres Portillos to unwind on Friday nights when I am visiting in Ohio. My favorite item on the menu are the tequitos, the way they’re cooked is very unique and they are simply delicious.
I had lunch there this week, only because it was convenient. The service was adequate. But the food left something to be desired. The flavor was off, and overall it was really bland. I understand why the gringos in Medina like it so much. It was bland! No heat, little flavor, even the texture of the chicken in the taco special was rubbery. Not my first choice Mexican restaurant, but I won’t be going back soon. Fiesta Jalapeos is so much better.
