Lovely and delicious. Sister’s Tea Room has a cozy atmosphere that I didn’t want to leave. Presentation and attention to detail are well done. The menu has a nice variety of light fare. The lemon poppyseed scones are light and flakey. The lemon curd is made in house, as I expect most everything is.I dined alone, but I left feeling like I had visited with a friend.

I usually don’t write reviews, but I was so blown away by the Sister’s Tea Room that it would feel wrong not to share my experience. First, let me talk about the atmosphere. The location is on Mentor Ave, and it was very easy to find with adequate parking behind the house, as well as street parking within walking distance. When you open the door to the Tea Room, you are greeted by a warm setting of florals and pinks. It reminded me of a doll’s house because it is small, but very quaint. It’s also very sophisticated, fancy, and inviting. The staff that greets you are equally warm and very welcoming. (I would advise to make a reservation even for a party of 2 because they filled up quite quickly.) I ordered the Traditional Afternoon Tea. It comes with tea, two scones, a selection of 4 different tea sandwiches and 4 tea fancy desserts. I’m a big fan of Earl Grey tea, so I had that. The sugar cubes that are offered are in shapes of tea cups, tea pots and roses! The scones were Irish Buttermilk with a side of cream and lemon curd. The scones were warm, fresh and lemon curd was tart but not in a way that made it unedible. The tea sandwiches were filling even for their size. The Curried Chicken Salad Croissant was by far my favorite. The idea of curry was a little daunting because I expected it to be spicy and very heavy. I was suprised. It had the curry flavor, but it wasn’t overpowering. It was very light, but not short on flavor, and fit in very well with my meal. The Sister’s Tea Room is owned and run by two sisters: Teresa and Julie. They are lovely!! You can really tell that they are passtionate about their business, love what they’re doing and enjoy making their customers happy. Everything on the menu is homemade. The menu includes breakfast selections, seasonal items, soups, salads, sandwiches and plenty of desserts. There was nothing left on my plate, and I was impressed with everything. I had a very good experience, and look forward to going back. The Sister’s Tea Room has everything a restaurant should: an inviting atmosphere, warma and friendly staff, and delicious homemade food. If I had to give a rating, it would be 5 stars!Visit their website: http://www.sisterstea.com for more information about the menu, prices, and reservations.
