A Miamisburg Institution. It’s a bit of a strange institution, but this burger has survived a century, and is still a Miamisburg icon. Watching people line up at an old wagon and order sliders by the bag full is pretty impressive. While it was voted one of the top 100 hamburgers at one time, I think it’s a unique thing that is a bit over-rated, and definitely over-priced. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good little burger (especially with double pickle, double onion), but you decide if it’s a top 100 burger anywhere in the country. For me the draw used to be (back in the good ‘ol days) going to downtown Miamisburg to get a few Hamburger Wagon burgers, a bag of Wagner’s potato chips, and an Ice Cream Trolly cone……all for a couple bucks. That was a taste of The Burg!
Always stop by for a couple burgers while I’m in town! I love those little crispy burgers! But it is a hit or miss my husband hates them and we both grew up here.
Classic. Greasy, crunchy, delicious hamburgers. I used to go here all the time growing up and I still get cravings for them.Chances are that if you think of burgers as sloppy, huge, pink mounds of meat covered in 2 lbs of condiments and toppings, you won’t like this place. These burgers are thin and well-done, and topped only with a tangy pickle, onions, and salt & pepper. Most people eat at least 4 in a sitting, as they are rather small. However, they are also pretty inexpensive.I generally only make it up here once a year, but the wait is always worth it when I do.
Best mini burgers ever. Most people either love it or hate it. I love love LOVE hamburger wagon. You gotta try it.
Burgers are still great, but think they get smaller and price gets bigger every year.
Good for what they are, and that’s all they are. If you like your burgers very well done, this is the place to go for sliders. They’ve been doing it this way for about a century, so they’re doing something right for those who like it this way. You can get chips and drinks now, which is something you couldn’t do for the majority of Hamburger Wagon’s existence. There’s most likely a line, but they move pretty quickly. If I liked well-done burgers I would rate them higher. Glad plenty of people like them because these are the type of restaurants I root for.
Legendary Hamburgers. If you go to the hamburger wagon expecting one certain thing, I can see how you would be dissappointed. Most of todays burger appeal is based on how many different condiments that you can stack on top of a pound of ground beef ( I am not necessarily complaining). The Hamburger Wagon’s recipe is classic in its own right and is older than you, and your grandparents, and theirs too, probably. It’s pan and grease-fried beef patty is small, dense, and borderline crunchy, with a flavor and texture that is completely unique to the Hamburger Wagon. Its rounded out with a small white bread bun, a thick slice of onion, sprinkled with pepper, under a pickle slice, and placed in a white Hamburger Wagon paper sack, which will quickly show grease stains.I grew up eating these things, and every time I now return home, I always try to swing by the Hamburger Wagon.I typically can mow about 5 of them, then have a food baby, and transistion into a Hamburger Wagon induced food coma.
