Really miss the Clifton location. We came up to Montgomery for their pizza. Got seated right away. Tables were not very clean, the long table was set for people and lots of crumbs all over it. Our table just felt gritty. The waitress got our drinks right away, but then took a very long time to get the refills. The pizza was very good… have been missing the garlic pizza.Over all really enjoyed the food but service and cleanliness needs work. You can tell you are in an upity neighborhood.
Terrible food, obnoxiously poor service, and more! After a credible source had informed me about this pizza parlor, I was very excited to bring my group of wounded service members there for an event opportunity. I called about three weeks out and again one week out to verify that we were good for our reservation and at that point all seemed like it would be a perfect dinner for us to engage with each other and have great food to boot. We showed up 15 minutes earlier than our reservation and it appeared that they had a section in the back seating area ready for us, but they were not busy at all. The other veterans and their spouses had to put the tables together themselves so that we could all talk to each other. Then when I began going around the table to introduce each other, the one waiter did nothing other than bring out 1 pitcher and fifteen glasses (we had 16 people = 1 pitcher of water) and leave it on the table away from our party. After 15 minutes of absolutely no service, no more pitches, no menus, no introduction from the staff, I stop our intros and went to request some service. The waiter got me more pitchers of water and finally came over to take our drink orders and provide us with some menus. While we ordered I advised him that we want some appetizers put in immediately and instructions for the bill. An hour and half later we finally got our entrees. The food was terrible, under cooked and one veteran told me his was supposed to be a calzone and was nothing more than wet bread. If it wasn’t for the veteran caregivers trying to keep our minds off of this terrible experience, we would have demanded a manager and made a scene, but the night was about positive engagement and fun with other military families. My wife comes from the restaurant business and was very confused on why this place was almost completely empty and we only had one server. One server with some sense of customer service would had been a plus, but apparently that was too much to ask. When I originally spoke with the hostess about my reservation, I asked more than once about calling ahead of time to give the restaurant time to prepare for a large party and they made it clear their was no need. I apologized to all the veterans and their spouses for the experience and they said it was OK because they got a chance to get out of the house and have fun, but clearly would not choose this pizzeria again. The restaurant was notified of my intentions, given every opportunity to make this a great event for our nation’s wounded and the staff that night showed us zero respect or zero basic considerations on top of waiting over an hour for our poorly prepared dinner.
