Best deal in Dayton!!. This truly is the best place in Dayton for the money. Sushi is always half price! They didn’t jack the prices before they made it half price…it’s literally half price of everyplace else in this town. The quality is second to none. Look at my bill…each roll is under $3. Each comes with 8 pieces. With tip, we got 4 sushi rolls and a steamed dumpling appetizer for under $20. They also give you a big bowl of fried noodles for free to start, as well as free miso soup. Why pay $7 for a Philadelphia Roll at Kabuki, Thai 9 or Siam Pad Thai–it is $2.25 at Asian House (it’s called the JB roll). Better quality, and a third of the price. This place has plenty of seating and you will never wait in line like you will at the other sushi places in town. They are closed on Monday, but are open every other day of the week. Their service is excellent and the food comes out fast. You will not be disappointed.
Want To Like. A friend told us of this new place that had rave reviews. Since we love visiting new restaurants and we are sushi connoisseurs, it seemed like a good night out. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful. They did also make a special order for me of seaweed salad sushi which not all places do, so that was nice! But… The sushi was just average; and once they brought it out, we were missing our Nigiri (at $4 a piece) but were charged for them at the end of the night. The sushi was okay, nothing truly amazing…. But, as a vegetarian, I figured ordering off the vegetarian menu was a safe bet. So I asked the waitress what the best vegetarian dish was and just ordered what she suggested. One bite into my meal, I realized my tofu vegetarian dish had apparently been garnished with pork…. Befuddled, I asked for a replacement. The chef was awesome, he apologized and was really nice about it, but it had already kind of ruined my appetite as I haven’t eaten meat in over 5 years until that night. After the whole ordeal, the waitress seemed very frustrated with us but honestly, we kept our mouth shut for most of their mistakes trying to be nice since it is a new restaurant (including them confusing us after ordering something off the menu that after them mumbling something, I am thinking maybe it didn’t really exist….). Even at the end of the night, I still took leftovers home with me and when I reheated it, there was a ton of black speckles of what I can only think to be dirt from the grill they cooked it on; my meal was crunchy and definitely should not have been. All in all, great dcor, good intro prices, the chef was really nice, but there is apparently a serious communication gap, irritated waitresses, and you really don’t know what you are truly eating….
