Steak Fajitas are frickin awesome!!
New opening. We waited for over a month for the new location to open in Kettering OH. We went on opening night and it did not go well. I know this company has opened multiple locations, so I was disappointed with the delay in getting our food, it took over an hour. Our check & service was also very slow – I would expect that corporate would have all hands on deck to make sure opening night was a success – they fell short. Rather disappointed.
A Tipping Trick. I have been frequenting the Centerville OH El Rancho Grande for years but I have noticed something in recent months that has me a little upset. In general they have great service but there have been times where I will be waiting on my check or a drink refill for 15 or 20 minutes!!! Normally I tip 20% or higher depending on service but there are the rare times where I will tip lower if it’s exceptionally bad service. My problem is every time I’ve gone there for the last 5 months the server comes up and stands by the cash register in an attempt to subtly force me to tip well. They stand there looking at me as I write the tip and I’m tired of it. I understand many people may under tip and how frustrating that can be as a server but at the same time I will not overtip a bad server and trying to force me to by standing there staring at me is BS. If any of you are reading this from now on if my server comes up to the register, when I already am being taken care of by the host/hostess, I will stiff you. I will look you right in the eyes and stiff you.
Viva la Grande. El Rancho Grando has been the go to restaurant for my family for ten years and for good reason. The steak fajitas and burritos are a great value, and if I had to pick a favorite dish it would have to be the burrito special. The atmosphere is that of Cozumel Mexico which is perfect for a dinner date. 10/10
Warning to vegetarians and vegans here. I ate here a few weeks ago. I thought the potato burrito and cheese quesadilla were good (not great, just good), but I was charged about $1.50 more for a vegetarian combo (which are all the same price and listed on the menu separately from the other combos) than the similar-sized ‘regular’ combos. I could not convince them to give me the same price as my friends who bought combos that I’m sure were more expensive for the restaurant to make because they contained meat. I was charged MORE for a meal that removed the more expensive ingredients. Don’t support this restaurant if you are vegetarian because they will rip you off.
Deff. Don’t listen to the people complaining majority of people love this place! Great people, great service and the food is fantastic!!!! Anyone can have a bad expiriance anywhere, but I have never received it from here. It’s a great place for the family and the portion sizes are HUGE you get well over your money’s worth here. My fav. Is the steak or chicken fajitas ahhh Amazing!!!!
Bad customer service. Went their this evening w/my husband & neice, we were seated @ 5:55pm-happy hour is from 3p-6p. Margarita’s were ordered as soon as we were seated. When the bill arrived, we were charged full price for the first round of drinks. The server informed us when the order was put into the computer (@6.28pm), it was well after happy hour. Not our fault it wasn’t placed into the computer until that time, drinks were ordered prior to 6pm. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, especially considering we spent in excess of $90 for our meal. There are too many other good places to go with better food and MUCH better customer service. We’ll take our money where it’s appreciated and better spent.
