It was the perfect day to visit Geez on Far Hills. I was disappointed after having gone to Meadowlark’s (it was closed) and remembered that Geez was also strategically located on Far Hills as well. The decor reminds you of an old fashioned country club. Sprinkled with a few patrons and golf/tennis admirers, the place was clean. The wrapped utensils are sitting in the middle of the table along with the salt, pre-wrapped napkins, and sugar. We ordered Pub style potato skins fully embellished with tomato, bacon, cheese, chives, and sour cream. We also purchased the Geez Dip sandwich as well as the Fish and Chips. The fish was fried cod filets, battered, served crispy and hot. The dip sandwich was ok. The roast beef was very tender, but the au jus was better than the sandwich itself although it was covered in mozzerella. The service was good, but not excellent. This would be a nice place to come at night and drink with friends. Thanks for the suggestion Food Sleuth!
Amazing wings! Actually, everything I’ve ordered there I’ve enjoyed but I keep going back to the wings. They are crispy and different than any others I’ve had.
Geez:Let’s talk again about this outstandingrestaurant, you will not be disappointed and should make every effort to go to Geez and have a great food experience…Tucked away from Far Hills Ave.This Family owned restaurant with outstanding food that was created by the family, every thing on the menu you will be please on the quality,Friday night: Go for the Prime Rib!Best burger, steaks and wings in town everything on the menu is top notch.Highly recommend.
Great soup and pie+. The vegetable-beef soup was souper, plenty of meat. The apple pie was best restaurant pie I ever had–plenty of cinnamon and delicious. Had fish and chips, was good. Crinkle fries were great.I had left my credit card, they contacted me right and way, and saw I got it. Service for the 15 in our party was exceptional, drinks refreshed. and didn’t have track them down to get them.
It’s a shame. Great location and loyal following…..all for at best, average food and absolutely lousy service! Try and try again with hopes that it will improve and they just don’t seem to get it.
Easy Going Place with Great Food. When I come to town, this is the place to go. Sometimes there is a wait for the food, but that is because it is made to order and not prepped to just sit there. Sometimes the wait staff is crazy busy, but that is OK as the atmosphere has a very home like feel to it. I love the hamburgers, french dip and pizza that are on the regular menu. The daily specials are made fresh every morning and never a disappointment. The steak and prime rib specials are a fabulous deal and rival any big chain restaurant. The real special here though is the homemade soup by one of the family members. It changes all the time and the perfect way to start off a meal. Just recently I learned they are making homemade desserts. I have only had the blueberry pie and it was the perfect way to end a meal. Definitely will remain my go to when in town.
Bad service, boring food. Visited Geez on a Sunday night, there were no big sports games on, so it was not very crowded. We ordered the hamburger and the french dip. It took about 25 minutes before our food arrived and when it did the order was wrong. We did not see our waitress, except to order food and when it was time to pay the bill. We also ordered a pizza to go and had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes after we had paid the check and finished eating to receive our pizza. The burger was overcooked and did not come with all condiments ordered; the french dip was very bland and also did not come as it was ordered.Overall the service is extremely slow, the food was nothing special, and the decor is crowded, old, and run down. We will definitely not return and do not recommend!
