Meh. In all honesty, I order from Pho Mi occasionally, but only because it is close to where I work and live. I have had far better Vietnamese food, even in the Dayton area. To give you an example, there is one local Vietnamese place ( will not mention name here) that makes the Bun salad with vermicelli noodles just like Pho Mi does, but the two versions are not even comparable. At the other place, the Bun is loaded with thai basil, cilantro and other greens, while at Pho Mi my Bun has been served to me several times with iceburg lettuce as the main salad ingredient. At the other place, the Bun is is served with grilled lemongrass pork, large grilled lemongrass shrimp, and fried spring roll. At Pho Mi, the same dish only includes two of those items, costs the same, and the pork is some sort of kabob contraption that I can’t swear isn’t Spam. In my experience, Pho Mi is convenient due to its location. I mean, let’s be honest here. It has the market cornered because there is really nothing else nearby that is even remotely similar, and I generally don’t like driving to Kettering or Riverside after work to get food most days, so I bite the bullet. With that being said, I consider Pho Mi cheap, knock-off Vietnamese cuisine. One caveat; As others have said, the owner of Pho Mi is a wonderful lady. The staff is very friendly and helpful so I don’t necessarily mind giving my money to them. I just don’t consider it great Vietnamese food, even in Dayton. I order from there because its convenient and I can live with it, but it’s not great food in my experience, or my family’s experience.
Love this place!!. Its hard to find good Pho. this is one of my favorite places. I work in Dayton a few times a month and always make sure I stop here. great servvice and food. huge portions cheap..
Love this place, I try to get here once a week for lunch. The pho is excellent, but beware if you order an XL bowl, it is about a half gallon hot tub of flavor.
Pho flavor weak and lifeless. No fish sauce or even soy sauce available to liven the flavor. Very disappointing if you are looking for a more authentic flavor experience.
Pho sure. Pho Mi is a nice little family owned spot that has slowly earned more and more business……and rightly so. Early on I tried them out, and knew that they could be successful if they could pull in a steady clientelle. The place is clean, the food is respectable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are not familiar with Vietnamese food, just speak up! They are very good about stearing you to something that suits your preferences. While it’s not for everyone, if you haven’t tried PHO – you’ve got to give it a chance…….it really is quite good.
#29 sliced chicken sate was excellent. Try this place out. Very clean and staff was very friendly.
We went looking for a Vietnamese Restaurant to supplement kids cultural study of Vietnam. Staff at Pho Mi so gracious, explained traditional dishes, shared info about Vietnamese traditional festivals and invited us to attend a traditional dragon dance. The food was awesome, and the picky eaters in our group tried many things they would not have because the staff were so friendly and encouraging. We’ve been back and back. Great food. Great place for families.
