Good Place to eat. We went in on a Sunday Afternoon. It was pretty empty so we didn’t have a wait. Served quickly and accurately. The Menu is short to medium with items listed with good descriptions. I had Spicy tuna Sushi and it was wonderful. I also had the shrimp Appetizer. Again, very good. My entree was Shrimp and Scallops. I must say the scallops were huge and cooked perfectly. Not rubbery or over cooked. The shrimp very good as well. The cook was young and jovial. Kept us laughing! This is far better than Benni Hanna and I believe less costly. An excellent place to take a Date or for a special night out with the that special someone. The only thing that was wrong was an inexperienced waiter, leaned over my wife while she was eating to hand me the bill. (Everyone has to learn sometime.)I would rate this restaurant a 8-9 out of 10.
For those of you that went to sake for the sushi, there are definitely better places to go. But they have hands down the best hibachi. We have been coming for 8 years and get filet nearly every time. The kids love the chefs and they have never messed an order up. As for the sushi, go at lunch and its 50% off!
Sake Japanese Steak House is a bit expensive given the quality I the sushi, which is average. I ordered a sushi dinner, which is a chefs choice assortment. It was basic sushi (less expensive cuts) and portion was below average size. Most of fish tasted good, but I have has much fresher and better.
The first (and last) time eating here the hibachi chef mixed up the entrees of a few people in our party. After taking a few bites and realizing the problem, they told the chef. He actually picked up one of the patron’s plates and SCRAPED the contents onto the other’s plate. Then the manager acted surprised that we would not accept (or pay for) the food. Rude!!
I disagree with the other reviews completely. I’ve been coming here ever since it opened (at least 10 yrs I believe) and I love it. I live almost an hour away & still come as often as I can. The prices are great compared to other Hibachi places & I enjoy the sushi though I normally get the filet mignon & fried rice. The staff are always nice to us and the food is usually great (new chefs are the reasons it’s not some times). My only complaints would be that if you orders Hibachi I’m the dining room verses the Hibachi table it’s not as good, especially the fried rice. The recent ever changing Hibachi chefs is frustrating as well but lately seems to have gotten better. We bring out of town guests here all the time as well frequent it for special family dinners or our date nights. I really do love it.
Sushi is Average. Went there on a Sunday at lunchtime and the waitress handed us the Lunch menu. When our bill came we were charged Dinner prices. Rather than them take the hit for their mistake they lost a customer. The sushi is average. Kabuki in Centerville blows this place away.
Okay if your stuck in Dayton this place is the best your going to get for sushi however management is really rude
