Great Food. Tremendous Food. The soup is really good, I go for Won Ton and The General Tso’s Chicken with Broccoli and Fried Rice. Fantastic Chinese Food and would say this is top of the line Chinese.
Love the tea. The food is great and the complimentary tea is wonderful. It’s a nice place to meet with a large group of people. My friends and I used to go there in large groups and they never messed up anyones order.
Best!. Yummy food, friendly staff, tablecloths! Non-buffet means the food is hot and fresh brought to your table. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. One of the best places in Mount Vernon!
Good chinese food. It’s the best chinese place in Mt. Vernon. Its the only non buffet place in town. The staff there are great. They try their best to please you. It’s take out or dine in. They give you complimentary hot tea and steamed rice. We’ve never been served a cold meal. They make to order. Some things are spicy. If you’re not a fan of spicy foods or like extra spicy just let them know and they’ll make it the way you want it. We always end up getting extra so we can take it home for a midnight snack. 🙂
Great food in an out-of-the-way area. I’ve eaten at Hunan Garden many times, and the food is excellent, especially for a rural area. When I moved away from Mt. Vernon to much more urban areas for several years, I missed this restaurant while I was gone and I made a point of ordering from it when I would visit. I enjoy the fact that Hunan Garden dishes seem to include a higher percentage of vegetables in their dishes than most other Chinese restaurants I have tried. However, they aren’t cheaping out by scrimping on meat. In my experience they use decent cuts of meat and pair them with a solid amount of vegetables instead of choking customers with dishes that are 90% low-grade meat and maybe 10% veggies.All in all, I definitely recommend Hunan Garden; it doesn’t pretend to serve haute cuisine, but what the restaurant offers is always well made and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a particular dish and you like hot, well-seasoned food, try the hunan chicken.
Mogolian Lunch. My favorite restaurant that I live by, a step or two down from PF Chang’s definitely better than any buffet I’ve ever been to. Lunch specials have an entree and soup. I always go with the Mongolian beef for my meal and it depends what soup I want. The Mongolian beef is cook with sauted onions, rather than green onions like PF Chang’s. Cheaper, looking to spend around $10 or less for a lunch or dinner. Wuality and service are great.
