Just visited here for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the Newark Spicy roll, and it was great. Husband said the sesame chicken was the best he’s ever had. Can’t wait to go back!

First-rate!. Our first time in Newark, and we were fortunate enough to find this place in a small strip just off the highway. The food, service, and setting were excellent, and the prices very reasonable. I wish we had this place closer to home–

Fabulous sushi & the Asian gentleman who runs the place is so nice! Highly recommend the Columbus roll & Bourbon chicken.

Best sushi in the area!. We’ve ordered take out at Chili Pepper several times (maybe a couple dozen) and have never been disappointed. In addition to sushi, the menu is varied and distinctive and all the offerings we’ve had are neither oversalted nor greasy which is often the case with Asian food. Ingredients taste very fresh and are prepared to perfection with an artistic fluorish. The owner is extremely accommodating and even gave my husband the gift of a bottle of wine on his birthday! What a nice surprise! Our favorites among the sushi offerings include the volcano, cowboy rolls, and buckeye rolls but everything we’ve sampled has been fabulous!

So very disappointed in Newark, Ohio. O.K. I had a nice chat with our Caucasian waitress and explained that I wanted my food extremely spicy. I ordered Basil Chicken. I was served chicken with green beans that was very bland – if there was basil it was dried flakes. I went and found the waitress and asked for some red pepper. She kindly brought me about two tablespoons of pepper in oil. I finished that and asked for more. It is not my job to spice up my meal. So between my bland food and the annoying television it was a most disappointing first try at the missing Chili Pepper Asian Fusion…what a misnomer! My husband thought the Pad Thai was good with very fresh vegetables. The hot and sour soup was nice.

Simply divine. I have only good comments about this restaurant. The price is beyond reasonable and the food is amazing! It brings international food to the next level. The restaurant incorporates dishes from different parts of Asia like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Japan! Where else can you get the best of both worlds but at Chilli Pepper? Love love love the new and comfy decor along with a sushi bar, drinking bar and several booths and tables. When you get a chance, definitely stop by and try it out. I highly recommend it. It is treasure in Newark.

Great new Chinese restaurant!. I’ve driven by this location many times before, wondering if it would be any good. Last month, we stopped by on a lark, and were really surprised. We found out that the owner bought The restaurant just a few months prior and redid the decor and menu. Although I can’t vouch for the changes, I can vouch for for the results. The place is clean, cozy, and has many dining seating options, including a sushi bar! We ordered dishes and two things immediately struck us: one, the flavor is so good. Even though the dishes are what one would expect from a Midwest Chinese restaurant, the flavors are bold, striking and differ from dish to dish. One gripe I have had with some places is that it is the same brown sauce for many dishes and one can’t discern the difference. Not at Chili Peppers. The flavors are distinct and delicious. The second eye catching difference is the portions. There is a lot to each dish. The portion of meat is very generous! The prices are very reasonable too.I haven’t had a chance to try the Thai and Japanese cuisine yet, but Iwe like the place so much we’ve been back the four times in a month! Check out this hidden treasure!
