My visit to this place was just unfortunate. Apparently the cook called off and the hostess, waitress, and barista was cooking breakfast. Three crispy slimy eggs was not how my morning should have started. They are serving some extremely overpowering coffee at breakfast that should only be served upon request of that style/blend. It is just a shame because the mission and structure is quite perfect. New management and this place could be a Newark gem.
The first thing you always notice is the friendly staff. The second is that there are a lot of regulars. Food is good and reasonably priced, and the coffee is great. I love the atmosphere and how they are a good steward of the community.

Friendly atmosphere and praise their mission of community.However, service was slow, pancakes were heavy and lacked flavor; potatoes were over spiced and buttery, biscuit was hard and wasn’t anything special.
Breakfast could have been better!. The bacon was over cooked, the home fries had too much seasoning (garlic in particular). The coffee was a bit on the strong side, but some might like it that way. However, the made to order food such as the eggs and pancakes were well prepared and was the most enjoyed. Service suffered a bit, not once did the server come back after serving our meals to check on us.
Good food for good prices. Friendly service and tasty pairings for entrees. Highly recommend!
