One of the best meals our family has ever had out. The red snapper was incredible, as was everything else we got on our platter. Our server was excellent, and all of the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The next time we are in Columbus, we will be back! Thank you!
Love this place. The people are friendly, the food is great – they specialize in seafood. It is a rare treat for Columbus to get a menu so packed with seafood choices. I have been there 4 – 5 times now and it has been consistent both in food quality (always high) and service. This is not a fast food restaurant though, so give time for the food to be prepared and you won’t be disappointed. Sometimes there is live music, which adds to the experience. It is a great place to sit and savor the food, have a drink, and relax.
Excellent West Coastal Mexican seafood cuisine!!. Late afternoon today, Saturday 2/28/15, was our third visit to Alegria. The dining room was very busy, with at least three large party tables, almost all other tables filled, and a norteo band performing constantly in the middle of the floor. As always, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. The seafood-stuffed lobster is both a work of culinary art and a heavenly eating experience. The restaurant was packed with people and the atmosphere was joyous and lively (due in part to the accordion music). Very importantly, the service was excellent and professional on a very busy day (and an unexpectedly short-staffed one, we were informed). When people have complained about the service at Alegria it is incomprehensible to us–we have been treated only with courtesy, friendliness, and promptness even under the most busy of circumstances. Delicately, perfectly cooked and spiced seafood does take some time to prepare, but even so we have never had to wait long for our food. No good restaurant would rush you in and out–we enjoy the time we get to spend at Alegria, whether actually eating our food, or talking with each other and the friendly people working there. And if you’re lucky you’ll get to hear some excellent Mexican music. We drive a full hour to get to Alegria and always await with joyful anticipation our next visit there. The young woman who is apparently the owner/manager is a lovely person who really seems to enjoy giving people a really nice and unique dining experience. We’ve been treated with nothing but courtesy and friendliness by all the staff at Alegria.Our favorite restaurant by far anywhere in central Ohio
