Took the wrong turn, and found this gem of a restaurant right out of the past, a little old but charming outright friendly.got a stool at the counter, black coffee in a second, ordered number five chopped steak and eggs, what a great place!Got to try this late a night.
Been here tons of times for breakfast. It’s your classic diner. The food is usually good and the prices are pretty cheap. The only issue is sometimes the service can be a little slow
I was torn between the meatloaf sandwich and the Reuben. Got drawn in by the picture of the Reuben. Shouldn’t have. Corned beef is out of one of those little plastic packets they sell in the lunch meat section, or so it appeared to me. Tasteless. Potato pancake was OK, but real German is so much better. One, maybe two over par. And maybe I just got the wrong thing. Great hash house atmosphere. Waitress was nice. Just not the Reuben I was hoping for.
Excellent veggie quesadilla, good burger, okay potato soup, and subpar ‘pinto bean soup’ (bowl of beans with side of raw onion) and cornbread (cardboard?). Everything got delivered to our table at once. The home style cooking matches the home style atmosphere, with a hint of 50’s style diner (the juke boxes in the booths work). Bonus – they’re open all the time and have wifi.
I have been here several times. The breakfast is ok, about the same as Bob Evans, but the service is horrible. The last time we went in , we waited an hour for our breakfast before my husband finally asked politely if it was coming soon, the waitress yelled at him ‘do you see all these people’, and stormed off. It was quite embarrassing, our kids were with us. No thanks, for the same food and good corporate service we can go to Bob Evans. The sausage gravy is better there anyway. Sugar and Spice which is not far is very good and has way better service. Love to support local restaurants, but I like good service even better.
Unbelievably slow service. Took 45 minutes to get breakfast.
This is a spin off the Nest they make. It has hash browns, cheese, egg, and sausage gravy to top it off.07 Feb, 2015Pig Pen Breakfast. Awesome!
