We came for dinner with family.. We had no idea what to expect. Appetizer was pommes frittes were delicious with 4 different sauces. Entrees were on point. Pizza was perfect .. Chicken was cooked amazingly. Overall the food was great.. The service complimented the food even more which added half point! Carly Nicole Buynack Abby
I came with a party of 10 for a friend’s birthday. We had reservations placed days in advance, but were sat at a booth made to fit 8 people max (two placemats had to be added to the already-set table) Then, even though we ordered 5 min after being seated, our side salads and appetizers took an hour to arrive! Our main courses were dropped off little by little another 20 min after that, and all of my friends sat with their food in front of them because my pasta didn’t even come out of the kitchen! Once it arrived, it was cold. Thankfully, the manager did not charge due to the inconvenience. Needless to say, it was a poor experience. I will not be back.
Excellent pre-theater dinner. Atmosphere is really good and the place smells awesome right from the beginning of the night. The menu is limited but the range of meals is very nice – from pizza to wonderful entrees. There were three of us so we sampled all three salads – they were excellent. Two of us had the scallops and they were perfect. The roasted corn is also excellent – tasted decadent. The drinks were very good and the waiter was attentive without hovering. We will definitely go back and try more things.
Solid. I’m going to provide the most important detail first: This place is open until 2:30 and actually serves food that whole time! This was an absolute life saver one night after drinking at Great Lakes and feeling in desperate need of some food. The food itself is pretty great. A little pricey, I think, but never disappoints. The pizzas are really unique and delicious, as are the fries. They might be the most delicious fries ever! I haven’t branched out much from the pizza because I’ve always liked it but there are a lot of other tasty sounding options, too! This space is huge – I’m not totally sure where Bar Centro ends and Beir Market begins but there is a whole downstairs area in addition to the huge space when you first walk in. I really like the layout and decor, as well. The only slightly bad part has been the service, and that wasn’t terrible. When we came later at night, we had problems getting simple things like water refills, which tends to irritate me. I’m sure the staff just wanted to go home but hey, you work at a bar so you have to expect to still have customers while you’re open! Overall, though, great food and a good option for late night snacks in Ohio City!
Delicious and helpful!. My husband, 13 year old daughter and I popped in here while exploring the Market District in early August I am just discovering beer and asked the server for recommendations. The only thing I could give him to explain my taste was the dark Warsteiner we had at Das Schnitzel Haus a few weeks before. He asked a few other questions and brought me a delicious choice. Whose name I cannot remember. Ugh, lol. So, we’ll have to go back!30 Aug, 2014Pepperoni Pizza. Thin crust, perfectly sauced and cheesed. This was probably one of the best pizzas we’ve had and we try pizza a LOT! We stuck with pepperoni to satisfy all the tastes at the table.30 Aug, 2014Pomme Fritts. Table share size – enough for 10 people to have an ‘appetizer’ portion. Delicious. None of us cared for the three dipping sauces (and we do generally like such things) but the fries stood alone. YUM!
We went to Bar Cento for dinner with some good friends. It was a great experience and the food was outstanding. My friend’s son is a chef there and he suggested a couple of dishes. If you’re lucky enough you can get seated at the bar literally in the kitchen. The Executive Chef came by and spoke with us. We will definitely go back. This place is a real find.
