Stopped by Hecks cuz other places were too busy. Nice place food was really great. The baked brie appetizer was a large plate with great sweet berries. Blackened salmon was great. Lobster mac n cheese was good too. Staff was efficient and friendly. Nice Ohio City spot. I would go back. .
Wow, great place.. A friend and I decided to try Heck’s for lunch and I was impressed by the whole experience. We both ordered the onion soup and it was actually the best that I have ever had. It was loaded with cheese and had a very rich flavor. Yum! I ordered the Rocky River Burger and it was excellent, even though it was a little undercooked. The taste was right up there. I can’t wait to go back to try something else on the menu…maybe the crab cakes.David – Garfield Hts.
Average food, terrible service – waitress took the liberty of adding tip to our bill. Not worth the trip
April 13, 2014.. Excellent food.Superb service.
O.k. food – Poor Service. We stopped by this past weekend for some food and drinks and from the start should have known to just leave. Upon walking in we waited for five minutes before being asked if we had reservations. We’d been here previously and never had a problem getting seated but this night they would only seat us in the main dining room if we had a reservation. Since we didn’t have one as it was just my fiancee and I, they offered to sit us in the booths next to the kitchen. As we both were hungry and wanted a hamburger we said that’d be fine and were seated all alone in the booth area. Upon being seated I noticed the booth itself was a little dirty and the table top sticky making me slightly grossed out thinking I would be eating there. We then waited for our server to come around but as we were the only people in that area it took our server a while to come around to us. This was one of only four times she stopped by to check on us all night and it was typically a long wait between her visits leaving us with many an empty glass and empty stomach. Usually I’ll over look poor service if the foods good, however the burger, which I usually enjoy, was solidly average to below average. To top off the poor service two couples and a party of four, all who we overheard saying they didn’t have a reservation, were seated in the main dining room making me wonder why we got shafted while everyone else was treated much better. Needless to say I won’t be returning to Hecks again as there are plenty of better options in the area than this place.
Braised Short Ribs!. OMG that new chef at Hecks–Chef Ryan Kaston!I had the braised short ribs that he put on a trial special menu last week and it was great—tender, tasty with a great full slow-cooked flavor that made me want to order a second helping to take home for the next day—Awesome pick Hecks–keep bringing me back Chef Ryan!
Delicious chicken tenders (home-made), pierogies, and amazing Boursin steak served over smashed potatoes and a ring of spinach.
