Lost its Way. Johnny’s used to be my ‘go to’ top 3 restaurant for 20+ years. But they have lost their way with rude, unprofessional wait staff. Never going back.
Disappointed. Bad experience on a number of levels. First, the service was inexcusably slow. Apparently, some of the wait staff was sent home when it looked like it was going to be a slow evening. It turned out it was a bad call. When a dinner for 2 can easily exceed $150, management should never take those chances. I ordered the Sauteed Medallions Of Lobster. It was a very average dish (I expect spectacular for a $40 pasta dish). I also found it unacceptable that the lobster was not deveined. Cleveland has so many fantastic restaurants. I won’t waste my money and time at Johnny’s again.
Just about my favorite restaurant. Atmosphere is like a hang out for made men. Cramped and quaint. The food is out of this world (and so are the prices). For me it’s a wonderful mix of local upscale bar and great Italian food.
Sadly disappointed. I had been looking forward to dining there for awhile. Service was ok but we were then treated rudely by the waiter because we had a. Restaurant.com coupon. The food was ok but not worth the bad service. Please rethink your choice before going here. Bruno’s is a far superior restaurant with great service. I will never go back to Johnny’s.
Very cool place. Pricy dinners however you get what you pay for. I had some kind of veal with mushrooms. The veal was fantastic too many mushrooms though. Also the stuffed calamari app was to die for. The sauce there is phenomenal. We felt like we were in a scene from the godfather
Great Veal. Been eating here for years – very solid Northern Italian menu with some of the best veal dishes you’ll find anywhere in Cleveland. After all these years I finally figured out they had a patio. You have to go out the front door and walk around to the side but it is worth the effort. We dined there on a lovely late spring day and the patio with its tasteful European dcor took us to a different place for a few hours. Service is what should be expected at any high end eatery and you’ll never be pushed through a meal. So settle in, get comfortable and think about some great wine and food which is without fail very good. Yes, it’s pricey as are the drinks but hey it’s Jonny’s after all so if cost is an issue you’ll find little relief here. The wine list is extensive and there are excellent choice throughout the price range. My favorite is the pounded long bone veal chop which makes everything else worthwhile. Deserts are extra large and one is more than enough for two.. Finish the evening with a nice after dinner sambuca or amaretto and enjoy life
