I concur with the rest…. The pizza here is incredible, but as delicious as it is, and as spot on New York as it is, I can’t support the owner of this place. He is not the most customer friendly person, has a terrible attitude, and doesn’t give a crap about what people think of his business. In his defense, the owner used to be somewhat nice to guests, but he just doesn’t care any more. People have been saying this for the last couple of years. I wonder how this place is still in business…At any rate, here are a few more points:1) The dine-in service is abysmal2) Flat Pop/Soda3) The owner has a cow if you complain, and won’t take anything off a meal even if you had crap service4) He cusses out his staff loud enough for you to hear him5) They hate it when you have a couponWe quit coming after one day about 2 and a half years ago when we not only received their typical slow, lousy dining room service for the umteenth time, along with flat drinks, but we were also watching the Blue Jackets game (someone has to support them!) and that nasty owner came by to turn on the Steelers game even after he saw we were trying to start watching the Jackets game. My son even had his CBJ jersey on and got upset when the owner changed it, but the owner didn’t care. The Steelers game was over (Steelers were up by 4 or 5 touchdowns mid to late 4th quarter). Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Pittsburgh native, and die hard fan. I bleed black and gold, and in fact we were watching the Steelers game before we came over, but with the starters out, and the game in the bag, there was no reason to watch attentively any longer. The Jackets game had just started, and we had just got there, specifically for the reason to get a pizza and watch the Jackets game there. Instead, my wife, son, and I got up, left and vowed to never come back. It was the last straw, after several other so-so and lousy dining experiences there. It’s a real shame! We were getting a pie almost every week. Now I need to go elsewhere for good pizza.Yes – the owner owns the place and can do whatever he wants (within reason), but he needs to start putting his guests first and let them watch what they want when they are there! He also needs to start keeping enough CO2 on hand and train his lazy staff how to keep an eye on it and change it when needed, along with how to take care of guests in general. Unbelievable!! I hate to say it, but now I go to Sbarro at the mall and get a whole pie when I want fresh NY pizza. It’s a chain, but they still do it up right if you get a whole pie. It’s fresh made for you, and doesn’t sit under the warmer that way!I’d also recommend Little Sicily’s and Catalfino’s – both highly rated and close by. Neither are good old fold your slice NY style, but I know for a fact that Little Sicily’s uses Grande cheese – amazing flavor, taste, and top quality! Both are very pricey pizza places ($15-$20 for a large with a topping or two), but they don’t cheap out on you either. You get what you pay for! Huge gooey bites of cheesy goodness. Their meat toppings are also fantastic.Eff Pizzaria New York! Hopefully this guy goes out of business and a someone else steps in with a better attitude with a similar (or better) product!
Best pizza in Columbus. What goes best with the best pizza in town? ice cold CocaCola ahhh
Good Pizza Spoiled. My wife and I had been going to Pizzeria New York for well over a year because their pizza is really good. However, during that time the service has deteriorated to a point where unfortunately we can no longer support such an operation and will be taking our business to the much better service oriented Pizza Cottage down the street. To make it as short as possible here is an example of our last visit. (keep in mind this sort of thing has happened several times before) We sat down at 6:30 with only one other couple in the restaurant. The waitress was nice and took our drink order. 10 mins later she came back with our drinks and we ordered the food (6:40ish). Twenty minutes went buy and we were finally informed that the topping we wanted was out so we had to order a second time. Not sure why it took 20 mins to figure that out but whatever (7:00ish). The waitress still hadn’t come back to see if we wanted anymore drinks. After around 7:15, with a kid needing to go to bed, we got tired of waiting and asked to just have our food to go. Keep in mind a good 10 people had already came in and picked up their orders and a couple who arrived after us had already gotten their food. The waitress was nice and accomidating even though she never checked on our table other than to tell us that they were out of a particular topping. Finally at 7:35 we got our food and left. No offer of a discount for waiting nearly an hour for them to cook ONE pizza. So in short, it is sad that a place with so much potential has a management so terrible. In all the time I have been going there I probably only saw a manager or owner twice. So in short I deffinetely would never eat at the restaurant if you have to try it. Order out (even though there was one time they told me 25 mins and I went in to pick it up 25 mins later and had to wait an additional 20 mins!!!)Save yourself some time. Go to Pizza Cottage down the street or Grape Vine Pizza. Both are close to Pizzeria New York and have much better service adn the same, if not better, quality pizza.Such a shame, such a shame.
Great New York style pizza, but best to take out as service is very slow.
Pizza is close to the best I’ve ever had. Really is authentic new York style. The service is absolutely horrible though, good thing for them the food is good
