Just had a visit here for the firat time. The atmosphere is wonderful. The servers are quite attentive to everyone’s needs. The food is also worth the visit. In additon, they have Great Lakes on tap and in bottles. They also serve popcorn as a snack.
The good is not the food there! On my three visits there, I never had any preparation that seemed good or fresh. Moreover, most of the items are never replenished. The good is the ambiance! The wall of glass facing the lush green ballpark makes it a nice place to just sit and relax with a coffee, which, by the way, is included in the buffet.
Baseball? La Carte.. Impeccable service, good food, comfy feel, and exciting entertainment. We went twice during the month of July, with a group of about ten both times. The menu has a good mix of traditional ball park, sports bar, and up scale items. Both times we had the buffet and dessert. The first time was tops. The chef transformed true ball park favorites into gourmet delights. My favs were the sharp-cheddar cheese home-made chili dogs and the praline salted nuts. That was just the appetizer, lol. There was also a soup and salad bar with very fresh fruits and veggies. The buffet even had entre choices. We chose the bourbon glazed pork with roasted potatoes and steamed veggies. Although it was very good I didn’t each much because I needed room for the Carne Asada Nachos and dessert (the Monte Carlo). The second time was disappointing. The chef was trying something new we were told. He added flat bread pizza to the buffet. That was good but not in exchange for the hot dogs. He also removed the praline salted nuts. I’m sorry to say the once A1 nachos were average. I understand change especially the entre choices but hotdogs and nuts are a must!We saw the chef circulating quite a bit throughout the night. Hopefully things will be back to normal when we return in September.
Good place to escape the rain during a game, though seats with a view of the field fill up quickly.
Over priced leftovers. For $11 (drink, dessert, and tip included), this is generally a good lunch on Fridays. However, they do have some really bad buffets from time to time. For instance, today’s meal include Jumbalaya and sloppy joes. Both were made with leftover barbecue pork. Barbecue pork in sloppy joes is disgusting and the chef should be fired over this slop. The cheddar mashed potatoes were just a glob of starch the you could use to spackle your walls with. The chocolate iced yellow cake I had was of Chinese buffet quality. Frozen, thawed, and stale tasting.
