There are two primary things that set this venerable, single-location, independent chili parlor apart from most others – the gravy cheese fries, and the fact that they appeared on Food Paradise on the Travel Channel. I’d argue that the former led to the latter, so really, its the gravy cheese fries. This may be blasphemy to any Cincinnati chili fan – but I really don’t get the appeal of this item. Yes, I understand that it could be considered Cincinnati’s own version of poutine, being that it has fries, cheese (albeit shreds, not curds) and gravy. I get it. I just don’t think it tastes all that good. You have fresh from the freezer bag fries covered with very bland gravy and cheese that is itself very nearly as bland as the gravy. I think this dish could be a lot better, with improvements on each of the three components. All that said – lots of people love this dish and swear by it, so I do consider myself in the minority here.Their version of Cincinnati style chili is pretty good, and works well on the coneys, which are topped with an excessive amount of cheese even by Cincinnati chili parlor standards. I think 4 ounces of cheese were on each coney the last time I ordered them there. I like that they have been at this location forever and a day, with a very rundown look to the place, and that they serve very close to a typical diner’s menu in addition to all the items you find in any local chili parlor.Plenty of parking, and service is casual and efficient
Excellent chili, I like it better than Skyline. Only thing missing was sour cream. Fries were crispy, didn’t try the cheese/gravy fries. Couldn’t stomach that plus the chili. Thumbs up!

Best Restaurant Worldwide. This is my favorite restaurant from anywhere I’ve every lived, passed through, visited. I stop hear when I come back into town before even visiting family.
I love PRC!! The gravy cheese fries are yummy, as well as pretty much everything else on the menu. The only complaint I have is that there is a certain waitress there who has an attitude issue and seems like she hates her job. She is a long time employee who may need to find another job instead of complaining all the time.
Horrible Service. I forget when me and my fiance went there, but it was a random weeknight last summer. We had always heard it was good, and moved to Kennedy Heights a little over a year ago so we’re closer to it now, so we figured we’d give it a shot. We went in and sat at a table and waited about 20 minutes for a waitress to finally acknowledge our presence. We heard all of the staff complaining about their day very loudly to a regular customer as we sat there, and finally the customer felt bad that we weren’t being waited on and she gave us menus before she left. After we ordered, we were happy with the food. Very good local chili, but it wasn’t worth the wait and the feeling that we weren’t welcome. We have both said we will probably never go back, especially considering both Skyline and Gold Star are right down the street.
Simple Neighborhood Joint. There is nothing fancy here, but it’s always consistent. We live in P. Ridge and on those nites when we’re just not in the mood to cook but we’re tired of all the other fast food, this is the place to go. We get the gravy and cheese fries every time– it’s a must! The double decker club and gyro are always huge and yummy. They have good breakfast sandwiches, too, that are pretty much just like what you’d make at home. My only complaint: they ONLY take cash, so a trip to the ATM is always in order. Otherwise, PRC is ol’ reliable!
