I moved to reading August 2013 and went to the bridge house the second week here. I’ve gone back every week, sometimes several times a week. Never had a bad meal or service…love the atmosphere and the servers..price is great..recommend this place all the time….

Good Breakfast. I’ve always enjoyed breakfast at the Bridge House and it’s far more inexpensive than Bob Evans. I’ve had lunch and dinner a few times which are also a good value but I wouldn’t call the food outstanding or original.
A bad take out order with i dont care attitude from cook and owner. Me and family been a patrion thear for many year but that will come to a end. we did a take out order wich usally we do when in a hurry at the house and things wear realy bad. our order consisted of a burger that had all the toppings not on it,asked for scrambled eggs on kids pancakes got over easy. also one pancake and egg missing instead got someone left overs they wear taking home. took things back to get it straighten out was not waiteress fault she wrote everything down right cook missed the mark. well the cook took the burger and instead of making a new one just threw topping on and wrapped it up scraped the over easy egg off and threw a scrabbled egg on. when wife returned home with food everything was ice cold and nasty. took back burger and soup wich was cold and just asked to refund those two things. was told owner would call next day and fix it well never hear from him or never returned money. wife called health board and made a complaint. will never go back and will also never go to sorentos either again because under same ownership.
I have been working at the bridge house since freshman year and i have not had 1 customer come up to me or the owner which is my dad and tell me there was a catepillar in their food. If our kitcheb conditions were as bad as u say john our restaurant would have been closed a long time ago. Weve been open for over 13 years under our management which means that we are doing the right job that is making people come back to our restaurant
This is where I go to get homemade meals I can’t cook at home, because no one will eat them but me. Liver and onions, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls, sauerkraut, great soups, all you can eat fish dinners . . . It’s like being at Grandma’s house!
Not good!!. I like down-to-earth, dirty spoon restaurants as much as anybody, but I just can’t recommend the Bridge House. The food was ok, but it came with an added surprise; a dead caterpillar on my omlette. Gross! They didn’t charge me for it, but it definitely made me question the kitchen conditions.
