Having driven past Foley’s Pub in Reading many times, I finally decided to give it a try. The exterior is charming and inviting, but upon entering the bar/restaurant’s interior is starkly uninviting by comparison. I found service alert, friendly and eager to assist. The menu was printed on diner-style paper placemats bordered with local business ads.Foley’s being an Irish pub, I decided on the pot roast sandwich. It was prepared much like a French dip, with pot roast and melted Swiss cheese grilled on buttered rye bread and served hot with au jus for dipping, along with potato chips. It was delicious and I can highly recommend it for lunch in Reading. My food with a mixed drink was an excellent value for less that $15.
Not what is used to be. This used to be the destination in the Valley for good local band music, free happy hour snacks (popcorn, chips, etc), and beer/food specials, but it doesn’t seem so anymore. It has gotten pricey, no snacks, service could stand improvement and no more bands. Hopefully some of those popular attrractions will return.06 Mar, 2015Wings. I didnt care for them… waitress said they are baked early in the day then fried upon your order…. result is an overcooked soggy wing. I would suggest they deep fry fresh wings for best results.
Awesome cheese sticks!
