It is perhaps a bit unfair to write a review on a place where I have not sampled their food. Well, ok, more than a bit unfair.But I was unable to get by the combination of the food, the manner it is served, and the price. This is a no-frills, counter service, take-out only eatery (although I have heard about a separate dinner club that I did not see?). The food is very basic – burgers, meatloaf, fried chicken, etc. Every menu item costs no less than 14 dollarsThats right, your burger will run you 14 dollarsWith apologies, I just couldn’t get beyond this. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that the food is ok with a 2 star rating
I’ve heard a lot of advertising about this establishment and decided to try it out. Maybe it was the day after a holiday blues but, I was not impressed with the presentation. The sides had been microwaved in the box so long they had started to burn holes in the box and it had started to melt. The yams and collards were tasty however the idea that they might contain melted styrofoam made them less appealing. The salmon croquettes were very flavorful but had a high sodium content which I found to be too much.I would go back to try some of the other menu items but, I am more likely to do it because I am in the area than I am to make a special trip like I did today.
