St Bernard Cafe is a bar first and foremost, but one that serves food as well, and I can attest that they do a reasonably good job of itIf you were a fan of Meiner’s Cafe, the place is now called St Bernard Pub. I can’t speak to any changes from the old to the new, as I was never there when it was still Meiners, but I like the simple menu of pub classic (burgers, wings, nachos, loaded fries) run by a husband and wife team who went to school in this same area as kidsI have only made it in once so far, but the patty melt I picked up was pretty good, although it seems somewhat unusual to make a patty melt with such a large (8 ounce) burger patty. I will say that they did tell me they would cook the burger to the specified done-ness, but it came much closer to medium well than my specified medium rare. Fries included were very thin, crispy, and hot. Like a lot of places serving wings, they do a wing special day, and here, its Wednesday, with 65 cents a wingThey have 5 regular lunch specials starting at 5 bucks, like a quarter pound burger burger (cheese is 50 cents extra) with fries. I was surprised to see that a bar has a kids menu, but they do – 4 typical choices at 5 bucks each. They also have chili everyday, as well as a random soupThey have their own parking lot with a pretty good number of spaces on the side of the building
