Not a bad little place, lots of cool stuff on the walls and the atmosphere is really lively. The drink menu is insane! Probably 20-30 drinks on it and some come in coconuts and or take home saxophones or guitars. The wait for a table was suppose to be 15 min which really turned out to be 30 and the wait for the food was approx 25 but well worth it. The portions were huge and the quality was high.

It depends. My boyfriend is from the area and said his walleye sandwich is one of the best he’s had. I took a bite and it was really good, but walleye is a great tasting fish anyway. The sandwich was on a brioche bun I believe and it was topped with a fried pickle. His fries were really good too. He had a home run on his meal. I didn’t however. We had sauerkraut balls as an appetizer. They were decent but too large. They were so large and cheesy that they fell apart. The sauce was okay but I didn’t love it. I had the medium chicken chunks and they were edible but I’d never order them again. They were not golden fried and should’ve had a little longer in the fryer. I had to ask for extra sauce because I couldn’t tell they were sauced. Waitress said everyone says that. The atmosphere was nice as far a sports bar/restaurants go; bar, lots of tv’s, keno, etc. Our service was really good and they have a great location by the park. I might have to go there again next time we’re in the area for his walleye sandwich and that will be fine, but I will NOT order the sauerkraut balls or chicken chunks that’s for sure. I’ll probably get some form of a walleye dinner.

Definitely worth a visit. They have really cool drink specials, but even if you’re the dry type, the food was great! Perch and Walleye from the lake, flatbreads, pizza, burgers, fries, and these crazy things called sauerkraut balls that were yummy! I recommend giving them a try long before you cave and go to the Friday’s right down the street.

Stayed for the weekend at attached hotel. Mike our server was awesome. An asset to the wait staff. He was friendly, courteous, and attentive. Made the experience. Margaritas, Naomi vice and monkeys drinks were delicious.

Hungry Pony. The Thirsty Pony is one of excellent sports bars in the area. They have an excellent beer selection to pair with some tasty bar food. But I will say prices are out of range for the area and its not fine dining. Overall it is a must visit.

While staying at the adjacent Quality Inn (which has an indoor water park by the way), my fiancee stopped at the Thirsty Pony. The food was a little over priced, but that was obvious due to it being a tourist trap. The food was good. We both got bacon cheeseburgers. The only complaint would be my fries and bacon were extremely dry. Great atmosphere though. 3/5 Worth a stop.
