Not Quite…. Honestly, the food was ok, but not unforgettable. I had mussels and it was a pretty basic recipe. What really turned me off: We waited for our orders to be taken for 30 minutes! The guy came and asked about drinks and it took him about 13 minutes to get the drinks and then he disappeared for about 30 minutes! Also, my butt stuck to the chair when I got up! It was sticky! How gross.
I had such a great night tonight! My wife and I each really enjoyed our meals. I got the Salmon and she got the striped bass. Our server actually cared about us and made us feel welcome. The wine was great and I’m upset I didn’t have room for desert. Thanks to the fabulous chef and to Andrew who took great care of us.
Great Experience.. I really enjoyed the place. It had a nice local feel. Definitely not your run of the mill chain restaurant. Our service was great, nice waiter. The alcohol was reasonably priced. Everyone at my table was quite pleased with what they ordered (Steak Sandwhich, Fish and Chips, Burgers). I will definitely be going back.
Worst service I have ever received. Wow, I am still in shock. The service here was horrific tonight. I don’t know if this was an isolated incident, but my husband and I considered walking out after our steak sandwich and fish & chips took over 45 minutes to deliver and we never received refills of our iced teas the whole time until our food came and we complained. We most likely won’t be returning anytime soon.
Mrs. Fitts. I had a Walleye entree that was amazing. Cooked to absolute perfection, piping hot when arrived at my table and accompanied by the most scrumptious cheese grits. Such a great pairing.Atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Priced to make every guest happy!
Skip This Place …. The Larchmere Taverns sports a decor straight out of the ’70’s, which in some Cleveland eateries adds character. Not here. The food quality was mediocre, and the portions were small. I ordered the fish ‘n chips. The plate came with one long thin piece of fish, a small pile of potato-chip-looking, very thin fries (if one can call them that) that were over-fried almost to the point of burnt, and a small pile of corn that was over-salted.Service was poor. I arrived late to join my party of four. The server took a long time to talk to me … made no attempt to tell me about specials or anything. (They were having a clam bake that weekend … I would have preferred that to the fish).Once served, I was basically ignored. Several times throughout my meal, the waiter would walk by, comment that my glass of water was empty … and then disappear. Later, he’d then return (without water, of course) and start the process all over again. (My glass was re-filled once, only after I had completed my meal.)I’m not a fussy eater (I’ll try anything once), but with the low quality of the food, the small portions and the lousy service, I won’t be returning to the Larchmere Tavern anytime soon.
