Solid Chinese takeout. The egg rolls are simply the best around. I love the won ton soup, the crusted pork in hoisin barbecue sauce, chicken with cashews, and the almond honey chicken. The menu is definitely americanized, so don’t come with the idea that this is authentic chinese. Although, it is much fresher tasting than PF Chang’s. The dining room is charming and clean, and the service is always very friendly. Been going there for years.
This restaurant used to be a great place to grab some reasonably priced Chinese takeout on the way home. Well, no more. Over the past few times that we’ve eaten there the quality of the food has gone down in a major way. For the past three times that we ordered take out, our order included fried rice. All three times the rice was scorched, so much so that it left a bitter taste in your mouth. The first time, we were willing to let it slide. The second time it happened my husband took it back and complained about it. All that was done was that the hostess at the register stated that she’d let the cooks know. No apolgies were offered for the substandard food, and certainly no refund even though it was inedible.The third time was last night. This is the final straw. Once again, the hostess very nonchalantly stated that she would notify the cooks. We’ve also ordered Pad Thai with dry, clumpy noodles. They do have some items on their menu that seem to be the same as always, but when a customer brings an issue of quality to a company’s attention (on multiple occasions) and that issue isn’t addressed, to me it says that the customer’s input/opinions do not matter. Therefore, we will not be dining at Pearl of the Orient again.

Just had the wonton soup… EXCELLENT. Looking forward the the stirfry scallops for lunch. Nice place.
Flavorful! Love the specials!. I ordered the pork meatball appetizers in the hoisin barbecue sauce, it was delicious and I could have eaten so much more!!! I love the little wonton chips that come with it too. I wish there was more sauce just got dipping those chips in!
Hoisin barbecue Sauce. Just tried their crusted pork in hoisin barbecue. I’m definitely coming back for more.
