All….we have must passed the brick pizza oven at DLM, we have For months/years, but this time we did stop, this is a serious contender for the best pizza in Miami Valley…. Really fresh with only the best ingredients,Highly Recommended.
Reasons to shop here:I just love the artisan breads, Killer Brownies, French style pastries, Deli, grilled cheese (with Barber’s Cheddar!), Naples Pizza, frittatas, crepes and on and on. The take away dinners are hit when we don’t have time to cook, they use the same great high quality ingredients in all the prepared foods. Then there is the cheese department, the fresh seafood, meats etc. I love the specialty items, I think if they put their name on the label, it has to be the best quality product in it’s category. I have never been disappointed with a private label product here. They also offer the most local produce around. You get what you pay for here. If you are willing to pay for quality then you will love shopping here.I can’t say enough good about them. They really are special.
We eat there at least three times a week.. We eat at DLM at least 3 days a week. Margarita Monday is one day. The others I have Jack’s Grill cook a Salmon or Halibut on the grill. Occasionally a ribeye steak. Hamburgers on occasion. Stuffed Pepper soup is another great choice. Sometimes have Sushi. Buying from the prepared foods section and using the microwave is another great option. Great variety there. Lacking a restaurant ambience, but making up for it with high quality ingredients, skillfully prepared. We do think the Margarita Pizza is Dayton’s best pure tasting Pizza, even though the crust doesn’t measure up to pizza cooked in a regular Pizza oven. Waiting breathlessly for the next Lobstermania. Having grown up in New England, it is much appreciated.Like the Washington Square location the best. The Springboro location doesn’t measure up. I’m talking about the dining facilities. Pleasant but isolated in Springboro. Little touches provided at DLM Washington Twp are lacking at the Springboro.
Great place for a foodie splurge. DLM is known for their top notch, high quality and expensive groceries and specialty foods. It is definitely not some place to visit if you have a tight budget, but if you have the extra money to satisfy your tastebuds, this is THE place to go! In the bakery, you can’t go wrong with their Killer Brownies and oversized sugar cookies. The Blondie Ambition brownie is hands down my favorite-it features white chocolate and caramel and is simply divine. If you are looking for deli foods, you will enjoy their large selection of pasta salads, sliced meats and cheeses and specialty items. The beer and wine selection is outstanding for a grocery-lots of craft and seasonal offerings line the shelves. Customer service is always good, but I haven’t had any noteworthy experiences to date.
Great sandwich from the deli counter. Crazy Ludwig sandwich. Grilled ham with jarlsberg cheese dip spread. YUM- a – riffic. You can dine on the mezzanine upstairs or, as I did, sit outside at a basic table, on a beautiful late summer day.DLM gets it right on many fronts, a well run business, honestly local items (not everything is local, but when they say local they really mean it) a great presentation and high caliber staff that knows food. Was talking to the grill chef in the meat dept and he said people buy all kinds of meat and have him prepare it, whether it is a pack of Aidell’s Spicy Mango sausage, a steak or fish, he’ll prepare it for you to eat there. You can also buy wine (basic to $1K a bottle) and just make a night of it, all right there at the market. This is my kind of fun, something slightly offbeat – great meal at the grocery – with high caliber food, expert preparation and an unusual ambiance. This is a great place to go on a date. For my money, if they are too pretentious to have fun with dinner at the DLM, then we aren’t gonna make it….. if they show little interest in quality and variety of food, we are not gonna make it far.. so lunch or dinner after perusing the market is a great way to get real, real quick.Kudos DLM and thanks for the dating help!
Killer Brownies!. I grew up eating Killer Brownies and they are still my favorite brownies. Layers of rich chocolate, nuts, caramel, and powdered sugar on top. Actually, their entire dessert selection is exceptional. Not to mention a Boston Stoker inside with great coffee (and wheat grass juice for the adventurous). DLM is the premier luxury grocery store of southwest Ohio, and it is a shame that there are only 3 locations so far. Nothing comparable exists in the Cincinnati area.
Great Restaurant! (Yes, I know it’s a grocery store too). Next time you’re hungry, try stopping by DLM and have them cook a burger (or steak or fish or sausage) in the back on the grill. Absolutely should win the BEST Burger in Dayton Award. Pick up some soup or side and a drink (Merlot or Jones Soda). Dine upstairs on the mezzanine. Cheaper than a traditional sit-down restaurant and better food. You will never find a better selection at any restaurant. Only negative: eating a NY Strip with a plastic fork.
