Fajita heaven.. Love to stop by every couple of weeks for a chicken fajita fix.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The pitcher of margarita was more ice than I have ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. The server told me that it was less ice than normal. I ordered the special, 2 fish tacos, unbenounced to me they don’t have the lunch special on Sunday despite what the sign outside says. They charged me for 4 tacos, the dinner meal. When I asked why I got four tacos they told me they did not have lunch specials on Sunday, despite what the advertisement outside the restaurant. .
I went there a few nights back and was really disappointed. The first thing served was chips and salsa which is typical of a Mexican restaurant. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with some hot sauce. Yuck. Neither my girlfriend or I liked either of our dishes. Bland. Her dish was supposed to come with guacamole and it didn’t. She mentioned it and they brought her a small bowl of it. It was rather tasteless but the point was that it was supposed to come with the dish and it didn’t. I am guessing they’re trying to cut corners to save money. Hence the reason for the tomato sauce salsa and the missing guacamole. I wouldn’t recommend the place. Some of the reviews that were positive were from years ago. It has obviously declined. If you go don’t say you weren’t warned.
STAY AWAY. Worst 25.00 I ever spent for food! This is the first review I have ever written; want to warn others, if you want tasty food, don’t go in the door. My friend and I tried the Combo meal; burrito, enchilada, quesadilla. Quesadilla was oil soaked, stuffed with cream cheese, very little flavor. Sauces seems to come from a can. The salsa was can tomatoes with chili pepper. All of the staff were very friendly.
Best Mexican Restaurant in Cincinnati. I have been going here for years – and the staff, food, drinks – everything hands down is great! I have never had to wait long and never had an incorrect order. Everything is fresh and the staff are extremely nice. Lots of Mexican restaurants try to be authentic, but this is the real deal! I highly recommend checking this place out. We eat here at least once a week. Sorry El Rancho Grande but Blue Agave has you beat hands down 🙂
Hey, It’s Better Than Taco Bell. Blue Agave is a local restaurant near Tri-County mall. I’ve eaten there before, but didn’t remember much about it. My second visit reminded me why that is:Food:The food was ok but it wasn’t memorable. I ordered a taco salad. I’m used to taco salads being colorful and looking flavorful, but my taco salad consisted of a tortilla shell, ground beef, lettuce, white cheese, and salsa. It looked bland, but it tasted ok. My mom however loves their fish tacos. I tasted hers, but didn’t see what she was raving about. It could be I’m not really a fan of fish tacos. They didn’t taste bad, but their fish tacos didn’t change my opinion.Drinks:Their drinks, however, are very good. I ordered a margarita and they were very generous with their proportions. I ordered a regular sized margarita, and what I received looked like it should have been the jumbo size. Drinking all of it seemed like a daunting task, but I managed it.Service:The service was good and our waitress was friendly. She checked on us at timely intervals, we didn’t have any trouble with our orders, and she took my mother and sister’s embarrassing attempt at Spanglish in good humor.Atmosphere:We went during the middle of the week in the evening, so it was pretty quiet. I liked that. The food wasn’t so great that I will eat at Blue Agave regularly, but it’s a nice restaurant to visit every once in a while.
This place is fine, but completely unremarkable. I got a combo with a burrito, enchilada, and chile relleno. The burrito and enchilada were exactly the same filling with exactly the same sauce; the only difference was one had a flour tortilla and the other corn. The worst part is the ground beef filling wasn’t very flavorful. Also, the chile relleno was not deep fried, which I am accustomed to seeing. I will say that my wife’s mini chimichangas were pretty good, but with so many other Mexican restaurants doing the same thing better than Blue Agave, I don’t see us returning.
