A bit pricy but oh so good. The best place to get seafood this far inland by far. I always try something different when I’m here and I have yet to be disappointed! Great sides too!
Years ago we had a retirement party here and it was absolutely fabulous, now with some time to kill, sat at the bar ordered only appetizers oysters and fried calamari, service was great oysters were great (and I am a seafood snob)Highly recommended
Ehhhhh. Heard a lot of good things. I was unimpressed, especially for the $. Everything was bland. The seafood was fresh so I guess if I would have gotten just plain grilled fish I would have been happier. I had a pasta dish that had no flavor & my husband got a creole dish that was also bland. The bread they bring to the table was my favorite part.
Great Seafood. Enjoyed dinner there for Mother’s Day – Oysters on the half shell were fresh and wonderful . The seafood was the best I have had since leaving Maryland. Looking forward to having dinner there again. Service was friendly and prompt. Keep up the good work
MY BEST PAPPA MEAL YET. It’s always the same…having been a Pappadeux fan since the early 1990s–I order the same ol thang The Fried Crawfish dinner with baked potato and sour cream and grilled asparagus or broccolini (since they started having broccolini) and I order the cheesy grits with andouille sausage as my starter.Usually it is pretty good. Sometimes it is stellar and a few times it was awful–this is normally due to the fact that I detest cold food, incomplete food (I expect my potato to be hot with butter and sour cream and my crawfish to be edible) or overseasoned food.Normally, once I have had a few mediocre or horrid experiences I lay off for a few months to a year to give both myself and the restaurant a break. I had just been into Pappadeux on the week before (this post is about a meal had on Sept 08,2014) and the meal was Meh. I had to throw the crawfish away–so much pepper that it burned the back of my throat. But I was in Cinn so why not?I ate in the Bar area and was served by one of the bartenders–and what a difference a server makes–he ensure my tea (sweet tea) was always filled, my grits were not only wonderful and hot and plentiful but a HUGE bowl (I was in cheesy grits heaven) those grits.THOSE GRITS–creamy, cheesy, savory, hot, with bits of sausage in them though not like it used to be ( a lot less meat) but that is okay the grits were wonderful. My crawfish was light, hot, and obviously freshly cooked ( discerned by the lack of chewiness and the slightly sweet taste of the meet) but the surprise to me was my broccolini.I had been getting broccolini with a lemon wedge for years –WHO KNEW that the chef could serve my broccolini with butter sauce? I never knew it came with butter. I spritzed my lemon as usual but noted the broccolini was very wet–I tasted it–SUBLIME. The bite of the lemon mixed with creamy butter, then the neutrality of the potato and of course the crispy, salt flecked pieces of sweet crawfish–I loved that meal. It has been my best Pappadeux experience so far and as an aside–NO ONE makes cheesy grits like this Pappadeux. I have them in the South (Atlanta, Louisiana, TN, KY, Maryland, Fl) I had some at another Pappadeux in Austin, TX–EVeryone should be sent to take lessons from the maestro in Cinn. THAT GOOD and if you know my other posts and other my other name (queenbeethatsme) lauds from me are few and far between. If I say it is good–it most likely is superlative.
Love love love this place. I had the the tilapia and husband had the big bay platter. Servers Brandon or Craig are absolutely excellent. Our favorite restaurant in Cincinnati.
Expensive, but Huge Portions. I went to this location as my first experience with the chain. My first impression by looking at the dinner menu was the prices. Expect to pay $20 to $30 per entree. However, the portion I received on my $25 Crawfish Platter was enormous, and probably enough food for 3 meals. I found the taste to be good, but nothing I’d crave. I’d return here if in the area, especially if someone else was paying.
