The Full Dinner and Show Experience. My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Sahara Grille this past Friday for Valentines Day in Canton, OH. I have to say their humus is better than Aladdins. The texture of the humus was just perfect, not over processed. We ordered a mixture of items: shawarma, kafta, falafel, fava Bean salad, seasoned rice …. and it was all delicious. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided good service. We were also impressed with the belly dancer that performed that night. She was very elegant and refined, not like I have seen at some other middle-eastern restaurants. Our server said her name was Angela and she is a house regular. The only thing I could say that the Sahara needs to improve upon is the fact they do not offer any home brewed mint tea. All they offered for mint tea was a store brand tea bag and hot water. All in all the experience was a good one, and we are planning to come back very soon.
Visited here today for the first time and it will definitely not be the last. We had a larger party (9)… And we were welcomed right in and given a round table in the corner so we could all enjoy each other’s company. We split 3 appetizers – baba, mama, and hummus. All were delish! Then we split 2 of the tours with the same 3 meats. The salad was really good. We were concerned there wouldn’t be enough rice or salad and were thinking of ordering extra. Our waitress told us not to worry there’d be plenty and she was right! We were stuffed! Except my mom had to make room to try their rice pudding – and she was glad she did. She said it ranks in the top. We stayed around and talked for at least an hour after we finished eating and paid the bill – we were never rushed or felt like we were being pushed out. It was an excellent experience and we can’t wait to go back! Actually my husband and I talked a few times already about how we wish we had more of their food to eat and wished it was closer!
Friendly, Delicious!. I eat here often, but usually take away. They have the most delicious spinach pies (not on the menu but ask) and their food is obviously made from scratch. The only complaint is their online and take away menus need updating, but the gentleman working the front of the house is knowledgeable and helpful. The baklavah is heavenly and they sell it, plus pita, right near the front. I also recommend the stuffed grape leaves and the baba ganoush wraps. I called once after first trying the baba ganoush to say it was the best I’d had. I eat Middle Eastern food often, and I’m happy this place isn’t too far from me. This is a local business, so please try it, and I don’t think you will be disappointed. I have never had their buffet, but if folks have high expectations about buffets… well…
If you enjoy lamb order the kabob and enjoy. The hummus is great.
For my younger brothers 16th birthday my mom suggestioned that we go to Sahra Grille. Worst decision ever ! When we went in we saw a disturbing belly dancer. It was nasty. Then we were waiting and no waiter came. After telling them we were ready we orderd baba ganush. I dont really like eggplant in general so i didnt really try it but there bread and oil was tasty. Next came the meal. Me and my younger brother ordered a meat wrap. When i took a bite the smell came over me. i took a few bites and i realized it was uncooked. they took it back and i just ate the parsley. not filling. We decided to order dessert.Best decsion. it was delicious! At home 90+ grandpa pointed out eating at home would have been better. all in all this place sucked. 1 outa 10 because of cake
The best middle eastern food. The most authentic middle easter food in town. All food prepared from scratch. The owner was even kind enough to let me watch him make hummos and the grape leaves. 10 out of 10
AWEFUL. We heard so many great things about the restaurant, we decided to go to their lunch buffet. We were very very dissappointed. The only Mediterannean portion of the buffet included hummus, babaganoush, pita, and rice. The rest was misc. The only meat on the buffet was fried chicken (the worst I have ever eaten), and meat cakes(was it meat?) The babaganoush was eggplant and mayo. The only dessert was fruit and a rice pudding dish. The service was slow (We had to move empty plates around ourselves). The buffet was $10.95 + $4 for a kabob. We could have eaten at McDonald’s and have a better chance of identifying the food and it would have been more fulfilling. Never again.
