In trying to use a gift card we received to Sylvesters, we first tried to order carry-out but were told they were too busy to take carry-out orders. On our 2nd try, they took our order. We still had about half the gift card left, so we tried to order carry-out again, 3 times in a row, but were told that they were too busy to take carry-out orders all 3 times. On trying again, we finally succeeded in ordering carry-out, using up the gift card. Thank God, and we wont do business with them ever again.
Just take a look at the picture. An absolutely terrible meal. I ordered chicken Alfredo pasta and that is what I got. Also paid 16.50 USD without taxes for it. Three tiny pieces of chicken in it. Ordered a Captain and coke with the meal. Was totally watered down. Place smells funny, too. Not clean impression.I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Came in on a very busy night and the waitstaff was wonderful. Very hard working yet friendly. Had both the calamari and bruschetta for appetizers. Both were good; calamari was the better of the two only because the bruschetta was a little sloppy. I had the sausage risotto and it was very good. Price was a bit above average. I would recommend to try at least once. Plan on being there for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Sat at the bar as the place was slammed. Service em was a little slow but it bad for as busy as it was. I started with the Risotto …WOW WAS THAT GOOD.. It was also stuffed with fresh mozzarella cheese. Very creamy with great texture and flavor. Followed with the clam chowder. Creamy and great flavor. Then I had the walleye with a side of pasta. Walleye was very good. Flakey with a nice crust. It had a mustard sauce that was good and not overpowering. The side of pasta was not as good as I wanted it to be. It was ok but did not have that bright flavor that the marinara on the risotto balls had. I hope to come back tomorrow to try something else..So I made it back Saturday night. I started with the clams in wine with garlic.. Amazing flavor and not too much garlic. I then had the prime rib med rare with fries. I wish it would have been a little more rare but I think I got the last piece so I was happy anyway. Great flavor.. Might have been the best prime rib I’ve had or top three anyway. Lots of salt in the crust and a really flavorful ajus. Fries were also very good. I’ve found a place I’ll visit when ever I’m in town.
Great Service. Had the pork chop. Brian, our server, made the evening complete. Treated us like family. Can’t wait to go back!!
An unexpected delight!. I went to Sylvester’s North End Grille with a group of 10 friends not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by a friendly, unpretentious and casual atmosphere and fantastic food. All 10 of us ordered a variety of different meals and without exception all were delicious. I had the seafood combo special of the evening and it was one of the best I’ve tasted. Our server, Jacqueline, was superb! She was efficient, friendly, quick and attentive. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend giving Sylvester’s a try if you haven’t already!
Chicken risotto was yummy, and my husband said the walleye was the best he’s ever had. We moved from the dining room to the bar area–acoustics in the dining room made it impossible to have a private conversation.
