You have to know what to expect when you go here…the service is questionable and the place isn’t the very clean. I would definitely call it a dive. That being said, the Bahn Mi is the best we’ve ever had. We’ve tried every version and love them all. They once had no rolls and couldn’t make them for us and I gotta tell you, it was pretty disappointing. Thankfully, their pho made up for it. We’ve tried most of the versions of pho and have never been disappointed. The Vietnamese coffee is really good too. For the most part they’re pretty consistent, which is always a plus. When our kids come from out of town this is one of the places they want to go to. If you have never had Bahn Mi before or are a lover of it, I really think you should try theirs out.

Upon arriving, we were ‘greeted’ by a somewhat dismissive man who took our drink orders. They were out of one of the beers ordered, or rather, it wasnt refrigerated so we were offered a glass with ice to chill it. We declined, of course, and proceeded to browse the menu. The server (same guy) kept coming back to take our order but even when we told him we were confused by the menu he would just shrug and walk away.At length, we ordered three appetizers: spring rolls with peanut sauce, crispy fried squid, and fried dumplings. All were quite good, but presented with an air that said quite clearly that we were not welcome.Next we ordered dinners. Our questions were half heartedly answered so we had to just muddle through. I ordered Pho, which I had never tried before, and found it tasty. My friends meals were less well received. In particular, the Pad Thai was described as seeming like it was rewarmed in a microwave. After we finished eating, we were drinking our beers when the server began to clear our table. He took the empty plates, which was fine. The odd part is that he gathered the place mats, crumpling them over the table, and took away our unfinished beers before we had a chance to stop him!Needless to say, I will not be returning, decent appetizers or not…
