Good, but slim pickings for vegetarians. The vegetarian pasta and the hummus are very good. The hot pita bread is great. The vegetarian grape leaves are not worth a nickel–soft and mushy and way too oily. The service is generally quite good but noticeably even better if there’s a man in the party.
Great food. The food at the Beirut is top-notch Mediterranean fare. The entrees are a bit more costly than most places in Toledo but the portions are huge; you get your money’s worth.I had the Shish Tawook: two chicken breasts and a huge serving of rice (plus onions); my wife had the Chicken Shawarma. We also ordered a hummus appetizer, which is surprisingly large – not a plate, but a bowl of hummus, plus veggies and some of the best pita you will ever find. They don’t have a children’s menu but we fed both of our toddlers (two boys) and ourselves and still brought home leftovers. If you enjoy Mediterranean food and find yourself in Toledo, Ohio, it’s pretty tough to do better than the Beirut.
I’ve been to the real Beirut and feasted on some of the best home cooked food in my life while there. This little slice if heaven in Toledo is mighty close to the real deal. The baba ganouj is perfectly smoky. A real treat. I’m vegetarian and chose all apps for our meal. I give everything a high rating.
Lunch. Love the lunch menu, good food, great service. I keep going back!
Great food!!! Great service! Our server was a delight!
Terrible food, not fresh, no flavor other than grease. Tasted more like the quality of food one finds in a hospital. I was very disappointed since this is supposed to be a Toledo legend. Prices are too high , especially for the quality. I have had better from a falafel cart in NYC for just a fraction of the cost. I definitely won’t be back.
Beirut Blaaaahhhhh…. Went here upon reviews, was so disappointed. First off the hummus tasted old and sour, the grape leaves were so full of rice… wheres the meat? I had Lamb shank that was so full of grissle, my wife had chicken kabob, she had to pull out so much grissle as she ate, was well not worth the experience.we will certainly look for another Med Restaurant when visiting Toledo as we LOVE the food. NEVER GO BACK TO BEIRUT !!
