I went here recently for lunch. The waitress was mia ir didn’t care about our table. The food was ok at best. I will not be returning. Sad to see how bad it was gotten.
The worst food ever. Not Mexican.. I ordered the Krab salad. I knew it would be artificial crab (Krab). The alleged salad came out on a small plate. It is so dark inside the restaurant that you can’t see the food. My salad looked like shredded lettuce at first, but what I found out was that it was basically all cheese. I got a flashlight, and I found that there was a little bit of wet lettuce stuck to the top of the plate and then piled with shredded cheese. If you’ve had artificial crab before, you know that it has some texture. This stuff was mushy, and there was very little, like it was sitting in water all day. I couldn’t eat it, the other 7 people at the table agreed that it was disgusting, I only sampled a little bit, but they did not and would not take it off of the bill. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. The salsa is absolutely terrible. The chips were stale. I did not try the other food. I would love to hear from the owner. Something tell me that they don’t know what goes on in the kitchen.
They were in a down slump for awhile, but their food has gotten much better, and they have the best margaritas in Toledo. And I love the tacos!
Carmel’s is still one Toledos best. You can’t beat 40 years of being the best.
