No brainer!. The food is well worth the price. Close to Chicago style as it gets. It left me satisfied and smiling with tons of leftovers.
A very nice experience. We called ahead and reserved a table for six, requesting a view of the televisions to watch NCAA basketball. As an after thought, we called back and preordered our deep dish pizzas. We arrived, were led to our seats, and drink orders were taken. A couple extra guests arrived and were seated with us. More drinks were ordered and delivered and our waitress asked if we wanted our pizza. It was ready and they were delicious! We had great service! After we ate, we looked into Mud Hens stadium and were allowed to come in and watch! It was a fun night in downtown Toledo! Thanks Pizza Papalis and Mud Hens!
Good pizza. The pizza here is pretty good. I have been to Chicago and have had deep dish pizza there. This is the only place I know in Ohio that has real deep dish pizza. Prices are pretty high, but a small pizza will fill up two people. The service was not that good, witness hardly came by the table, but the food made up for it. The pizza had a great crust, and alot of cheese. If you are looking for good deep dish pizza this is the place to go.
Closest thing you will get to Chicago.. The pizza here is probably the closest thing to chicago style pizza I have had in awhile unless i am in chicago. I can say it’s better then Uno’s pizza. The only problem is at times the Deep dish pizza is off mark but when it’s on it’s right on.
Probably the best deep dish I’ve had outside of Chicago. In fact I’d say it rivals anything I’ve had in Chicago.
My Favorite Deep Dish!. I am a fan of Deep DIsh Pizza and had been driving every couple months up to Greektown in Detroit. So thankful they decided to open one here. Well pick ingredients and the perfect amount of sauce & cheese. I have to admit after thinking Gino’s East in Chicago had it on lock, Pizza Papalis takes home the prize for best deep dish.
BEST PIZZA AND SERVICE IN TOWN!. I was recently downtown for a sporting event (Walleye game) a few weekends back and stopped into Pizza Papalis…..this wasn’t our first time so we knew to go early because this place is always jamming with a wait and rightfully so due to their AWESOME food! So anyway, we pre-ordeded our pizza so it was baking while we waited to be seated, and once we were sat, only had 15 more minutes to wait. We ordered a few appetizers which came up quickly and were delicious! I recommend the Antipasto salad with their house dressing which is Italian and the garlic cheesy bread! We have gone before with a bigger group and ordered the combo platter which was very satisfying for a family of six and tasted fantastic!When the pizza came out (small thin bacon cheeseburger and small deep dish VIP), the server helped us serve our first piece thankfully. The cheese from the deep dish just oozed out of it and was so fantastic! Our server was very pleasant and happy. The team work from the other wait staff was awesome as well! I could tell the serving staff enjoyed their job. They were all working so hard and efficient. its always nice to go to a restaurant where the atmosphere of the worker’s is fun and happy! My experiences have always been great at Pizza Papalis. I was a server myself for many years so i know the hard work and energy that it takes to do a wonderful job like Pizza Papalis does! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
