Darkest star in sky. I asked for vegetarian dishes, and ordered malai cofta. I never had bad malai cofta before. They force you to have a combo plate by serving a small portion of antree and charging for everything else even though they say it’s free. After ordering vegetarian, they brought a platter with Jello and gummi bears made of geletan. In case you don’t know, these are made from cartelage and tendons, NOT vegetarian. I asked for a vegetarian desert, so a woman brought some rice pudding and proceeded to lecture me on how I should tell them when I order so they can co figure the platter to my taste. I,d like to know how many times I must specify that I want vegetarian food! Then she starts going on about how she would never think about that, and all off thier Indian frinds who are vegetarian eat it… on adnauseum. Should I care what your pretend vegetarian friends do? I didn’t want a lassi so I asked if I could get just the mango. When they brought it, it was very unripe mango and spoiled to top it.This place would make a great horrrid reality TV show! Nothing on the platter was pleasing and the best thing I could say about it is it’s almost edible. When they brought the platter, I asked if I could add just a second entre. He said yes, but it was the same price as the whole platter. Why would anyone want to eat here? I will never understand businesses that can’t comprehend who is paying. These people seem to believe we have a cast system and the customer is at the bottom. these rave reviews must be from personal friends. I LOVE even average Indian food. This is without a doubt or any hyperbole, the worst Indian restaurant experience I have ever had!
Real Deal!! EAT HERE!. Highly recommend! Have never been disappointed with a meal. I love that the chef can personalize The Heat of any dish. I go with spicy and it’s a solid 8/10 on the hotness level…right where it needs to be. The naan bread and rice is dynamite! Great portions. EAT HERE. If you don’t think you like Indian cuisine, or never had it…. EAT HERE. The staff is very helpful if have any questions about the menu.
We loved eating at Star of India. Very great lunches. The food was tasty, and large portions. Garlic Naan was amazing. The service was great as well, the waitress was very accommodating and sweet.
Spectacular food at a moderate price!!. Loved it!! The waiter was very patient, and willing to answer questions, and the restaurant was neat and clean. Of course, the food was amazing! The Chai tea was great, as were the kebabs and the jalfreezi. I can’t wait to come back. Dinner for 2 was under $25.00 and I must say, it was a great experience!
Amazing food and fabulous service. We will travel the hour and a half drive to dine here again. Food was fresh and flavorful. We have eaten at a number of Indian resturants and The Star of India is the best. You will not be disappointed.
