Deep India is without a doubt my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Greater CincinnatiThe location itself is a shambles, with a shabby interior with seating for maybe 8 people, and most of their business is carryout. There is no table service — you order, pay, and receive your food all at the short counter. Even water is self serve. Like many eateries in this congested area serving mainly hungry UC students, they have no parking lot. But I drive around until I find a spot and walk several blocks if I have to just to get a carryout lunch here – it’s just simply that goodThe reason is that the food is outstanding, and they make your food fresh to order right in front of you on the multiple burners and/or tandoor (clay oven) immediately behind the counter. The cooks know what they are doing, and work as quickly an efficiently as the small kitchen space allows. I have tried chicken tikka masala and garlic naan at many Indian restaurants around town, and along with Baba in Oakley, they make the very best (albeit for a dollar or three less than Baba)The best way to experience Deep is at lunch, when an order of any entree (9 to 11 dollars, depending mainly on your choice of protein) comes with a free plain or garlic naan. I believe only Deep and a nearby competitor (Krishna) give away free naan like this. Shaves 3 bucks off your lunch cost, right there.Strongly recommended, but again, good luck finding nearby parking
Good, BUT. I love it, but it takes forever. over an hour? no. Krishna may not be quite as good, but they’re still great and can get food ready in 10 minutes. Deep india is not worth the wait.
This is BY FAR THE BEST Indian food I’ve ever had and I now live in New York! I’m terribly sad that deep India is sooooooo good because now everywhere else tastes bland. The way they season their food is unbelievable. The Chicken Tikka Marsala is so amazing… can someone fed ex is for me?!!! Must EAT here!!! Staff is excellent too!!
Delivery?. Too bad it takes forever to arrive if you choose delivery. FOREVER.
Excellent Food. I live in Dayton and it beats anything they have. You would have to go to Columbus to get comparable. You can actually get it very spicy and the price is moderate. I had a goat dish that was tasty. More of a carry out place with limited seating, but had no problems finding a seat even on a Saturday night.
Carry out – good food!. Tried this restaurant because they have a lower delivery minimum than Krishna. The flavor is slightly different, but very good. Generous portions, prompt delivery and very nice staff. Worth giving your business to!
The BOMB!!!!. I love indian food and this is the best I have. And they deliver!!!! I think more places that serve indian food should deliver. Anywho, the food is great. I love the curry and the saag. My mouth is watering right now.
