Great food, but not so great customer service. The lady that answers the phone and runs the front and register can be pretty rude at times. She always has a frown on her face, and is very short on the phone. They’ve also messed up my order in the past and refused to provide any form of customer service. The main reason I go back is because they have good food and a specific dish that doesn’t taste the same anywhere else.
The food here is not good. I have been here three times and want to like it but am always disappointed. The chicken and the pork are both awful. I also find it offensive that if you are not Asian they only give you a fork to eat with and no chopsticks. Eat at Tea N Bowl two doors down for much better and more authentic options.
Hit or Miss. I just got Chicken Pad Thai Lunch special with wonton soup. It was sooo gross… both were spit out your food mid-chew bad. I’m usually satisfied with the lunch specials, maybe they have a new lunch cook.
Had a really terrific meal there tonight. Great food great quantity and friendly service. Its no wonder the nearby college crowd has adopted this wonderful local eatery.
Disgusting lobster. My husband and i had dinner at king wok on 8/18/12 and ordered the whole lobster at $17 a pound. we were told they only had a three-pound lobster, although i was ambivalent ordering so much lobster, thinking we could not eat that much.within 10 to 12 minutes of ordering, we were presented with a platter of cut-up pieces of lobster. most of the three pounds of lobster consisted of shell. more than half of the cut-up shell was left uneaten on the platter. most of the pieces were unidentifible as to which bodypart of the lobster was there. when we asked where the tail meat was (which i only had one small cube of tail meat), we were told that they wouldn’t have kept any of the tail meat. iidon’t know if they did or not, but i do know that parts of the meat were raw (pointed out to waitress), the presentation was a complete turnoff, and i would never eat there again.
Chinese Done Right. The few times I’ve gone here have been great. The workers are very nice and professional. The waiters always ask if you need anything, but not too often so it isn’t disruptive. The atmosphere is good. Its not too loud inside which is a nice change from many restaurants in the area, so you can actually have a conversation with people. The lighting is also nice, not too bright but far from dark. The food itself is pretty typical of what you would find at most Chinese restaurants. It is a little pricey for me personally, but its not out of the norm of other restaurants in the area. One thing I liked is that sometimes they will give you free side dishes such as cut-oranges. The service is pretty fast and I don’t ever remember waiting very long during the times I’ve been there. In terms of demographics, I think this place would be good for just about anyone really. There is free parking in a lot behind the restaurant, but I’ve walked over every time I’ve gone just because I’m in the area.. If you live in the area and want good Chinese food, this is a good place to go.
Enjoyable. Fairly fast service, good food, large portions and friendly people. I liked it!
