Update: Better experience. Hot pot was very tasty and authentic. Sadly, shrimp and scallops were not. Bubble tea is good if you order it less sweet, but if it’s cold they will fill half your cup with ice, which is a rip off. Great online ordering and delivery.Tea ‘n’ FAIL. What do you want to eat when you’re getting sick? Soup, of course! So I go to Tea ‘n’ Bowl and order a bowl of soup and get a plate of noodles with brown sauce instead (side note: brown sauce is so gross – who ever thought that was a good idea?). When I pointed out that the plate of noodles was not soup the waitress told me that I ordered the wrong thing. Okay, language barriers and misunderstandings happen, but I’m still looking at a plate of noodles I don’t want. She told me again (and again) that it was my fault (is saying the same thing repeatedly the Chinese equivalent of talking loudly in English so someone will understand you?) and made it clear I was stuck with the noodles. I didn’t make a fuss because I felt bad – obviously I didn’t make myself clear. But after a few bites I just couldn’t eat the stupid noodles – I didn’t want them and they weren’t that good. But the kicker is that the bill ended up somehow being $15! How is a lunch plate and a bubble tea $15?? The waitress explained to me, again, how it was my fault that I ordered the wrong thing while she ran my card. That didn’t help. I’ll stick with the place across the street.
