I’ve been to Gallo’s multiple times because the food is very good. Everything else not so much. From the parking, the atmosphere, to the restrooms and table settings, much is left to be desired. It’s in the details.

ONE OF THE BEST CHEFS AND RESTAURANTS IN COLUMBUS. Dined with family for fourth time this year. Menu featured a fresh octopus appetizer which we all shared and it was absolutely amazing. One of the featured entrees was crawfish etouffee, which two of us ordered. I’ve had this specialty many times in New Orleans, my favorite being K- Paul’s. And I’m here to tell you that Tommy Gallo’s perfect version easily rivaled it. Every one of our meals at Gallo’s has been memorable. We’ve avoided the temptation of ordering an entree we’ve previously tried and were blown away by, because this amazingly talented owner/chef keeps adding entrees du jour which we know will knock our socks off.

A TRULY FINE DINING EXPERIENCE. This is, without question, one of the best restaurants in Columbus. Food is king here. You don’t pay for a high-rent and expensively decorated restaurant. The ambience is extremely friendly and casual–you’ll feel at home in jeans or a tuxedo. But once you savor the exquisitely prepared food, you’ll know you’ve found a gem. We used to be regular patrons of the long-gone Ziggy’s not far from Gallo’s on Riverside Drive. Gallo’s is its reincarnation in so many good ways. And like Ziggy’s, the owner/chef leaves the kitchen on regular occasion to talk with and thank his patrons. He knows most of them, because they’ve become regulars. We are now one of them.

Love this place. Wet to Gallo’s kitchen last night with a party of 5. I had looked at the menu ad reviews online. Menu looked interesting ad did not disappoint. We started with the fried oysters and calamari. The calamari was excellent – loved the tamponade, but the oysters were exceptional a definite must have. I sampled the seafood creole, which had sea bass, mussels and scallops in a light and flavorful creole broth. Very good. The BBQ pork chop special was excellent. The walleye was offered 2 ways. The first came in a crawfish sauce that made me think I was back i New Orleans. We all agreed that the best choice of the night was a perfectly composed dish of walleye in a lemon artichoke sauce. The sauce was complex and well balanced. It was served with kale sprouts and perfectly roasted fingerling potato’s. It was the the best meal I have eaten in Columbus in a long time! i

Amazing food amazing service, for those who served (veterans). Gallos is SUCH an amazing place. Our facility has either catered or gone to this restaurant and have been nothing but astonished with the food and the service. They support the armed forces and show the hospitality! The food is TO DIE for and I would recommend this place to everyone

Delicious fried oysters and martins to the rim (the way they were meant to be!)

Great Gumbo. Recently had dinner at Gallo’s in Upper Arlington and was very pleased with the flavor and presentation of their gumbo. It has a wonderful full flavor, which apparently has recently been enhanced with a fabulous tasso ham. It’s really difficult to enjoy authentic Cajun and creole cuisine in Ohio, so my husband and I greatly appreciate that Tommy Gallo has chosen to bring his Cajun cooking skills to Ohio. We highly recommend diners visit this Gallo location and try some of the restaurant’s southern offerings.
