Eggs Benedict. Very good, would certainly order it again.
Food okay, service very slow. Food was fine for the price. Servic was terrible. Took 15 minutes for our order to be taken and an additional 10 minutes for us to pay the bill.
Slow service?. I’ll admit I’ve never sat down to eat here. But the few times I’ve come in to grab a croissant or other pastry, it took forever for anyone to come up front to take my order! I have almost left a few times thinking that no one would ever show up. I do enjoy their chocolate croissants and until I can find another bakery with better ones, I will continue to come back.
Hidden prices, salty food, and French ‘tude. Just had a very disappointing experience at La Chatelaine. I ordered the caesar salad with chicken. While the menu does note that there is an upcharge for adding chicken, it doesn’t state that adding chicken to the salad more than doubles its price. The chicken was so salty that it was hard to eat. When I expressed my surprise, the snippy hostess told me that 1. I could have asked how much the charge was (oh, thanks!); and 2. the price doesn’t double if you get the large salad. Oh, thanks. I’ll remember that next time I drive past on my way to a different restaurant. But I do have to give you snaps for your authentic French attitude….
Eating their Onion Soup reminded me of Paris… Where I ate delicious Onion Soup. I’ve very nice fresh salads and the best breads and pastries of course.
Lovely. I’ve always loved the food at Le Chatelaine, but I’m posting this review about the service, which deserves special mention. We ate at Le Chatelaine on a Friday evening, and unfortunately, my son knocked over a glass of soda, which crashed to the floor. He was mortified, but before anyone could react, our waiter popped up, swept away the glass, and at the same time, the host brought a new glass to the table. All the while, they said kind words to my son, who was apologizing profusely. I really appreciated this, and I think it’s a strong indication of why the restaurant is so successful. The delicious food doesn’t hurt, either (I recommend the escargot particularly).
Get a mouse!. Go right now and order a mouse from the bakery. I promise you will not be disappointed.
