This is an awesome pizza. Let’s get that out of the way first. It is built in the same fashion as a Chicago style deep dish, but I wouldn’t classify it as Chicago Deep dish. The crunchy bottom on this pizza was amazing, but the real show stopper was the sauce. Some of the best pizza sauce I’ve ever had. The only complaint I would have about this place, is that it is bar. So if you are looking for a restaurant type feel, this isn’t it. Mostly high stop tables, which isn’t very accommodating to a handicapped patron. Very loud, but again, it’s a bar, so I’m not complaining, just want people to know before hand what they are getting. It is most definitely worth ordering a pick up if you live in the area!!
Hands down, the best deep dish around.

Great pizza, beer and staff. Now I will say we went here for the pizza. I don’t know if it can really be classified as true Chicago style, but it is definitely thicker than most, the bread/crust was almost too dense though. very heavy although it tasted good. good luck finishing more than 2 slices. they only sell one size. I think it $21 for a large, again only one size. the cheese was and toppings were good, but their sauce is the star of the show. without that sauce, I may not have eaten the pizza. I don’t know that we will be back anytime soon, but we were glad we tried it.this place is more of a bar than a restaurant. I would not take kids here. seating is limited and its a little loud inside. but the staff are great and the drink selection is nice. if you live in Grandview, this would be a great place to frequent. unfortunately for us its too far away.
Disappointed. Nice neighborhood bar, decent beer selection for its size. Not what I would have described as a dive bar, as it was in a article that I read. We tried it for the pizza which has gotten good comments. That is where the disappointment starts. The sauce was good, crust had good flavor, a bit over cooked, maybe. It would have been a really good cheese pizza. We ordered it with pepperoni, mushrooms, and meatballs. All three of those seemed to have been on there by accident, nearly non existent. Definitely NOT worth paying extra for. If I was in the area, I might stoop in for a beer, but would not go out of my way for the pizza again.
In a city that falls under the delusion that New York actually makes good pizza, its nice to find a true Chicago style deep dish pizza (crust, then cheese, then toppings, then sauce). Toppings and sauce are quality. It’s clear they don’t go sands club and sauce it’s made in house. It can be a little pricey (supreme deep dish is $27), but it’s a full meal. One deep dish pizza is a legitimate meal for four large Midwestern men. I needed my knife and fork! It’s not like a Donato’s or some other typical local pizza. This pizza filled me up with under two pieces and kept me full for hours. This coming from a guy who can easily school half a pizza and some wings n be hungry in an hour. I recommend ordering in house, getting a drink from the most excellent bartender, playing some pinball or Area 51 and enjoying some pie. I’m undoubtedly returning.
Egon Spengler. What kind of horse’s ass takes the time to write a review of a bar they admittedly had never been to?This place was a dark, damp and depressing hole when it used to be Amicons and it still is now. I love it.
