Not impressed. I went to this bakery on recommendation and was pretty disappointed. The cupcakes and donuts were dry and the cookies were hard. It also seemed to be a bit pricey. I’ll pass.
Wonderful. The best glazed donuts in the city! A Saturday morning adventure to the Goodie Shop is a weekly tradition in our house. My kids love the cut out cookies and donuts. The coffee is excellent also.
Miss Bexley. The Treamont Goodie Shop is outstanding because of the cinamon sticks alone!!! I grew up in Bexley and used to ride my bike to the bexley Goodie Shop (before they moved to Arlington) for cinnamon sticks…Now I live in California and dream of them whenever I am not busy dreaming about Rubenos Pizza…Go get a few now! No let me correct that get a few dozen as it will save you a second trip…
The Original Goodie Shop is coming Back! For all you who have been disappointed with the quality in the past couple years GOOD NEWS The original owner bought it back and will be opening sometime in October which means we get the fine baked goods that we used to get! I can’t wait!
A letdown…. I visited the Goodie Shop after waiting to visit it for nearly two months. I was really geared up to visit this place and took my wife with me. Upon walking in (I think it was a Saturday – mid afternoon) we saw a lot of different types of cookies and a cake here and there. Not a bad selection.I must’ve bought about 7 different types of cookies (chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, sugar cookie, etc.) and then a sticky bun with frosting. Well, the sticky bun was pretty good and my wife loved it but the cookies were a big let down. After buying a pretty decent variety, I came to the conclusion that they start off with one primary type of cookie batter and then make all of their cookies from that same batter – but adding some flavoring to give the cookies individualized tastes. In other words, all of the cookies tasted the same – chocolate tasted like the snickerdoodle; the snickerdoodle tasted like the peanut butter, etc.. Additionaly, the cookies were very thin and crispy (i.e., they break very easily).
